AGREEMENT FOR THE FUNDING OF
SPECIALIZED TRAINING OR EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS OF $15,000 OR MORE
This Agreement is to formalize the terms and conditions related to the investment by CBC/RadioCanada in the development of skills and knowledge required by an employee to drive the collective
achievement of business performance outcomes and organizational goals.
This Agreement must be completed when the monetary investment of the Corporation in a single
specialized training or educational program for one individual is $15,000 or more.
Refer to the POLICY ON LEARNING & DEVELOPMENT AND PERFORMANCE and its Rules and Procedures
for detailed information.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
To be considered eligible for a monetary investment of $15,000 or more, all of the following criteria must be met:

I certify that I am a full-time permanent employee of CBC/Radio-Canada (the “Corporation”).
I certify that the specialized training or educational program in which I am registering in is
directly related to my current role and/or career path with the Corporation, develops my skills
and knowledge, and furthermore directly aligns with the organization’s strategic plan.
I certify that the specialized training or educational program in which I am registering includes
specific learning goals and at least one assessment measure to determine learning outcome
and return on investment as discussed between the parties.
I acknowledge and agree that I will successfully complete the specialized training or
educational program and must remain an active employee of the Corporation for a minimum
of two consecutive years following the completion date or the repayment obligations that
follow will apply.
I acknowledge and agree that if I voluntarily leave my employment with the Corporation (see
definition of voluntary departure in Appendix A) before successfully completing the
specialized training or educational program, or prior to fulfilling the required minimum of two
consecutive years of active employment at the Corporation following its completion date, I
must repay the Corporation the total amount, as identified in this Agreement.

I hereby authorize and direct the Corporation to deduct from my net wages on my final pay
deposit the total amount as identified in this Agreement as of the date on which my
employment ends. In the event that my final pay deposit does not cover the full outstanding
amount, I acknowledge and agree that I must pay the remaining amount to the Corporation
within 30 days of the date on which my employment ends. I acknowledge and agree that for
the purposes of this authorization, the term “wages” includes regular wages, bonuses,
commissions, variable pay, overtime pay, premium pay, annual leave pay, public holiday pay
and termination pay, and that this wage deduction authorization, and my consent to such
deductions hereunder, are compliant with the Canada Labour Code.
I agree to provide proof of the successful completion (including course completion date) of
the specialized training or educational program and other related costs that have been
approved by the Corporation.

NEXT STEPS – AGREEMENT PROCESS
1) Manager must ensure Agreement is signed and dated by all necessary parties, and include the following
documentation:
a. Proof of payment of fees paid to a recognized training or educational institution, or other
approved costs.
b. Proof of the successful completion of the course or program (including the completion date).
2) Manager must send electronic copy of the Agreement, in addition to the above documentation, to the
Shared Services Centre at [email protected].
3) Shared Services Centre must retain a copy of the Agreement in the employee file.
