VBX Team Expectations
Assistant Coach
(Assistant Small Group Leader)
The assistant coach is a vital part of the small group team and supports the
coach in leading small group activities each day. The assistant coach’s
primary responsibility is to connect with the kids and help them engage in
every part of VBX.
•
Submit to a background check upon registration and provide all
contact information.
•
Create an account on KidCheck if you do not already have an
account. We will email and text team members from KidCheck to
communicate VBX information regularly.

Participate in all training sessions as listed in the Guidebook. Notify
Kimberly Gingrich (Elementary Director) or Shelly Pordea (Preschool
Director) in a timely manner if unable to attend.

http://www.fbch.com/ministries/kidz/vbx) to prepare for daily activities.

Prepare to share your journey to faith in Christ with your team and your
children as outlined in the Guidebook. Know how to lead a
conversation about the ABCs of becoming a Christian, and
understand the process of leading a child to repentance and salvation
through Christ.

Assist with decorating the small group space and small group area
hallway area. Assist in clean up of those areas following VBX.
•
Connect and communicate with your Coach and team regularly If you
are a middle school or high school students you must remain with your
group at all times. No hallway roaming.
•
Move with children to the VBX rotation sites and assist the ROTATION
LEADERS in all activities. Rotations are not designed for leaders to sit or
stand around and watch. This is PRIME TIME relationship building. Play
with the kids, snack with the kids, craft with the kids, and learn about
missions with the kids. If you are participating, your kids will want to
participate too.
•
Participate in VBX Family Night at Wapelhorst, you don’t have any
responsibilities, just come and enjoy!
