EDAC Meets Monthly To:
• Address issues affecting all Networks
• Determine gaps in knowledge and/or
understanding
• Advise Forum Board, MAC and KPAC on areas
that need to be addressed with CMS and
Nephrology Community
• Share “best practices” and strategies for
meeting/exceeding SOW deliverables and goals
19
EDAC Challenges
Current Contract
• Data accessibility is much better than last year at
this time. Data is once again being delivered on a
regular schedule.
• Communication with CMS has gotten
incrementally better this year, but new
administration and leadership seems to have
created distractions hindering full engagement
• Project timelines have been shortened this year

Todd and I really loved the toolkit
Should be part of the Grievance AIM 1 QIA
CMS “highly encourages” use of the toolkit as an intervention this year
CMS will be doing a contract mod, toolkit will be a required tool in the
intervention 2018 and in future years
However, don’t just distribute it, it needs to be used not just sitting on a
desk, use it appropriately
“We need to get this in every patient’s hands”
Use the Forum to provide proper training
Members of the Forum please stay in contact with us, as we do updates we’ll
be certain you know about them to make updates with the Toolkit
Decrease grievances and improve care in the facilities
36
Next Steps
Offer Guidance on Projects
KPAC will discuss
AIM1 CoP Meeting
and develop
recommendations
on most effective
ways to use toolkit
in Grievance QIP
KPAC Leadership and
other Forum Reps will
attend future AIM1

update on how toolkit is
being used and provide
recommendations and
ideas
Continue Communication
with CMS CORs
Next call: June 19, 2017
