Americas Best Value Inn – Campus Residence Hall
What is the proposed 2017-2018 room rate for the hotel?
$2218 per semester. This is the same rate as double room on campus.
What furniture will be provided in the hotel room?
Some room will have two double beds and other will have university loft-able twin
beds. All rooms will have two dressers, two desks and two clothes racks. Reference
the room information for details about which rooms are doubles and which are
singles.
Will I need to provide my own bed linen?


Rooms with double beds hotel provides the sheets, 2-pillows per student,
and pillowcases. They will also have a weekly clean linen exchange. You
will need to bring your own bedspread, blankets and towels.
Rooms with university loft-able twin beds. You will need to provide your
own linen and you are responsible for laundering your own linens.
Will my room be cleaned by hotel staff?
Hotel staff will provide weekly bathroom cleaning. Vacuums will be available for
your use.
Can I bring a refrigerator and/or microwave to the hotel?
A refrigerator is provided by the hotel. You can bring a microwave.
How far away from campus is the hotel?
Americas Best Value Inn is 7-8 blocks away (approximately .6 mile).
Are laundry facilities available?


Students will be able to access any residence hall 8am-10pm weekdays or
Governors Hall will offer 24-hours access to do laundry for free.
Coin-operated washers and dryers will be available to use on site. The cost
will be $1.25 per load per washer and dryer. Please stay with your laundry
until it is done. The hotel is not responsible for unattended items.
What if I decide I want to move out of the hotel?
You can move back on campus as soon as a space becomes available. However, you
will not be able to move off campus. April-August if you want to request to get back
to campus, please go on the appropriate waitlist for the area you want to try to live in
on-campus at My Housing Portal. During fall semester, contract your Hall Director.
What will I have access to in the hotel?
Pool, fitness center, printer stations, lobby/study area

Cable service in all rooms with TV included.

Mail is delivered by the Resident Assistants.
Packages will be managed at the front desk.

Free parking will be available at the hotel.
Complete the Hotel Vehicle Parking form at
My Housing Portal July 1st-August 1st.
If you wish to drive your car to school, you
will need a UWEC parking permit. Contact

……utilize bus or shuttle service?
 The City of Eau Claire bus #19 will
have a route from the hotel to
campus. More information closer to
fall semester on schedule.
 A van shuttle will be available for
student directly to Hilltop dining hall
from 7am-9am and 5pm-7pm during
the weekdays.
 Additionally, Campus Cab will be
another useful resource.
……store/lock my bike?
You can bring your bike but not allowed
inside the student rooms. You can lock it in
the bike rack that will be installed.
When can I move in?
You can move into the hotel beginning at 8:00 a.m. on Sunday, September 3rd.
Where will I eat my meals?
A meal plan is required for hotel residents so you will utilize the campus dining facilities based on your selected meal plan. Select a
meal plan May 1st-August 7th at My Housing Portal. If not meal plan selected, you will be defaulted to Platinum.
