Directions for coming Directly to Big Creek
In Columbia Falls, driving on Hwy 2 East, turn onto Nucleus Avenue and go to the end of the street. Yield right
and follow the road up and over the railroad viaduct, this is the North Fork Road. Big Creek Outdoor Education
Center is 20 miles north of Columbia Falls on the North Fork Road. Our campus is 8 miles beyond the payment
on the left side of the road opposite the Big Creek Campground.
From Apgar
If the Camas Road is open, simply follow it until the road ends (after the Camas Bridge) and turn left. Big Creek
is two miles south on the North Fork Road. There is a “Big Creek Road” sign along the way, it is a forest service
road on your right - do not turn onto this road - keep going straight. Big Creek Outdoor Education Center is
about 1/4 mile south of the Big Creek Road on the right side of the road.
For some groups that come to Big Creek in the early spring, you will have to follow the directions for going
through the Lake Five area because the Camas Road is closed during that time of year. For groups that go
through Lake Five, exit the park through West Glacier and turn right (west) onto RT 2. Drive about 3 miles and
turn right at the Lake Five sign. You will have two turns to make along this road. The first is at a “T” intersection turn left. The next turn will be a right at a “fork” in the road. You will soon travel over the Blankenship Bridge and
continue on until you come to the end of the Blankenship Road. Turn right and travel about 11 miles. Big Creek
Outdoor Education Center will be on your left.
