ABOUT US…
Playmakers Basketball strives to provide basketball, as well as personal growth and
development opportunities through camps, club teams, and individual instruction for
boys and girls in grades K-12. As a professional organization, we understand that for
boys and girls who have a passion for basketball, the court is the best classroom to
teach hard work, persistence, self-discipline and self-motivation.
“Our Vision is to serve as the most complete youth basketball organization in the United States.
We are fully committed to directing topnotch offensive skills camps, providing extremely detailed
individual instruction, and offering a nationally competitive club program. We are dedicated to
creating a family oriented atmosphere, as well as teaching our players the life skills that go hand
in hand with success on the court: hard work, persistence, self-discipline and self-motivation. We
know through experience that for boys and girls who have a passion for basketball, the court is
the best classroom to teach these values.”
WHAT WE CAN DO FOR YOU…
If you have the commitment, discipline, and passion to be the best basketball player you
can possibly be, no matter what level you are at now, we can help you get there. I
always tell players, “I can’t make you a better player, but I can teach you everything you
need to know to make yourself a better player.” It all comes down to how much time
you want to sacrifice, how many movies with your friends you are going to miss, and
how many mornings you are going to be the first one out of bed, working on your game.
It’s not fun getting up at 5AM or missing the parties, but it is fun when you run out on the
floor to play in the sectional finals in front of 3,000 people dressed in your school colors.
It’s fun when you’re in transition, cross someone over, get to the rack and finish the
“And 1”.

FOUR WAYS TO FINISH
•
•
Start from either of the two wings. Place a chair at the wing. Start with a hard
sweep and attack the rim.
Make 5 of one of the following finishes. Beat the Press on the Way Back. Shoot 4
Free Throws In Between Sets. Go on to the next finishing move.
o Stockton: Lefty layup on the right side. Your footwork should be a right, left,
right step. Righty Layup on the left side. Your footwork should be a left, right,
left step. When finishing this shot you need to finger roll the ball off the bottom
corner of the square and turn your inside shoulder towards the rim. You
should see the basketball fall through the net.
o
Iverson Flip Shot: Get your inside shoulder to the defense. Do not square up
to the rim when shooting. Make Sure that you are not jumping forward
towards the baseline after the jump stop. You should be going straight up or
even into the defense. Flip the basketball over your outside shoulder, do not
turn into the defense to shoot it.
o Floater/Off the High Glass: Can be shot off the jump stop or off of one foot.
When shooting it off one foot think of it as a long layup. Make sure you are
not releasing the ball too close to the basket. The ball should hit the square
on the way down.
o Reverse: Either off one foot or two feet. Use the rim to protect the basketball.
Get to the other side of the rim. Practice finishing with both hands on both
sides i.e.- lefty and righty on the left side, lefty and righty on the right side.
“Success is a peace of mind which is a direct result
of self-satisfaction in knowing you made the effort to
become the best of which you are capable.”
-John Wooden
Each of us has a different definition of success. Don’t get caught up in competing with
others, rather continually challenge yourself to reach goals and become the best you
can be.
