Question 40
What was your favorite Readings Topic Discussion forum during the course and why? How did
it inform your understanding of information retrieval? Write at least 3 sentences and no more
than 6 sentences.
I think my favorite reading topic discussion was reading topic 2 - finding things. I enjoyed seeing
how my fellow classmates handled in frustration while seeking information. I knew I was not
alone! I discovered through this reading topic that if I do not succeed the first time, then take a
break and try again with a fresh preceptive.

Question 41
8 / 8 points
Describe the most important concept you have gleaned from the course content from the second
half of the semester. It may be easiest to consider something you learned while working on
Assignment 2. (It might even be the thing you struggled with the most!) Try to choose something
you believe will stay with you after the end of the MLIS program.
The most important concept I gleaned from this course content was the evaluation process of
databases. After creating the database and entering the postco records, I found the retrieval
evaluation challenging. I was not able to get the results I thought I should get, this made me
realize the important of proper evaluation in order to make things work properly not only for the
indexer but the user as well.
