Welcome to Discovery Playtime
Discovery Playtime is a play program with purpose! Children learn through play.
Our program is designed to help your preshooler gain confidence and learn to cooperate with others. Through play and group activities children will develop the social, fine motor control and communication skills that help prepare them for school.
Our qualified recreational preschool instructors value children and strive to make
the program a fun and enjoyable experience. This is an exciting time for your child
to experience new friends, discover the wonders of their imagination and gain new
independence.
Discovery Playtime welcomes all children. Please let us know if your child may have
additional needs as we strive to create an inclusive, safe and beneficial program for
all our participants. Your child may be eligible for extra support.
Kids & Play
We’ve structured our program with a focus on fun! Our Playtime rooms are set up
with many creative activities for children to explore. We incorporate group activities and individual play, as well as structured and unstructured activities that challenge and stimulate little minds and bodies.
Our activities include crafts, painting, books, storytelling, puzzles, interactive
games and musical activities. We have developed special areas for building,
sand and water play and kitchen modules that let children experience new activities and explore their imaginations.
Our Tips for Productive Playtimes
Casual Dress!
Dress children in comfortable play clothes. We’ll provide smocks for extra messy
projects. Running shoes are the preferred footwear.
Let Us Entertain!
Please leave your child’s toys at home as they get lost or mixed up with our supplies.
Parents & Play
As a parent, you are a big part of your child’s life and we encourage you to be involved every step of the way. If you have a special interest or there has been a recent event in your household, like the arrival of a new puppy, we’d like you to share
it with us.
We encourage you to fill out evaluation forms throughout the session, but if you
have a comment, suggestion or constructive feedback, please let us know! We are
always striving to improve our service.
Deliver to the Doorstep!
Please bring your children to and pick them up from the Playtime room. Please
be on time for your child’s benefit and sense of security.
Safety First!
Please let us know who is picking up your child.
All Items Present and Accounted For!
Please ensure your children’s personal articles (i.e. lunch kits, boots and coats)
have their name on them.
Keep Us In The Loop!
We need to know about your child’s fears, allergies or mood that will affect the
group. As well, please let us know if your child is sick or will be absent.
Washroom Use!
Children must be able to use the bathroom independently.
We Are Healthy Snackers & Nut Aware!
Please send nutritious snacks with your child ike fruit, vegetables or cheese. Please,
no nuts or nut oil products.
