RULES FOR SQUASH LEAGUES
1. The playing period will normally be between 5 and 7 weeks. The LAST DAY will be
posted on the board. The sheets will be removed on the evening of the last day.
2. Matches will be best of five, conventional scoring. League points will be scored as
follows:
• Score one point for playing the match
• Score one point for each game won
• Score one point for winning the match
• Score three points for playing all your matches
3. Please do not make alterations/additions to the leagues other than name/telephone
corrections. See explanation of how to challenge in or join the leagues.
4. If you cannot complete all of your matches in the time period due to illness or injury,
the points for all of your matches will be void. Please indicate “injured” against your
name.
5. If you contact an opponent who is unable to play on any reasonable date and time
which you have offered, it is then up to your opponent to make and offer alternative
arrangements. If no return contact is made you can claim the points by marking the score
with “P”. You cannot claim points, if no direct contact has been made with your opponent.
6. Please be aware of any new SRA rules which may be posted on the notice board from
time to time.
7. Generally, the top two players will be promoted from each league and the bottom two
relegated. The exception will be promotion from league 1 where one player will be
promoted. This general rule may be varied by the organiser if there have been a number of
successful challenges in any one league period.
8. In the event of players finishing on level points the following criteria (in the order given)
will decide the order of finishing:
(i) Result of the match between the two players
(ii) Fewer games conceded between the two players
(iii) Pot luck - league organiser decides!
