League structure 1.1 This league is organised and run by Leicestershire and Rutland Cricket. 2. Qualification of Players – 2.1 Players must be a member of your club 3. Cricket Balls 3.1 The games will be played with a full size indoor ball (will be provided) 3.2 LRC will provide the balls 4. Umpires and Scorers 4.1 Loughborough University will provide two umpires and a scorer 5. Results 5.1 Score sheets and an updated league table will be added to the LRC website (http://www.leicestershirecricket.co.uk/) and the Facebook page ([email protected]) 6. Duration 6.1 Each match will consist of 10 x 6 ball overs 7. Batting 7.1 Batter may run on any ball whether hit or not. 7.2 Batters must retire when their score has reached 25 (all runs will count i.e. If batter on 20 and hits a 6, she will retire on 26). 7.3 A single batter may remain with the support of a runner – who can be run out. 7.4 An innings will close when meaning both innings: 7.4.1 All batters are out., 7.4.2 The ten overs have been bowled by the fielding team. 8. Bowling 8.1 5 players must bowl; the wicket keeper may not bowl, 8.2 No bowler may bowl more than 2 overs. 8.3 All bowlers must bowl over arm. Only 6 balls to be bowled in any over, except the final over. 8.4 2 extra runs to the team score for each wide or no ball. 8.5 Extras should not be added to the batters score except no balls where additional runs are scored (example – a no ball is bowled 2 runs are added to the extras, the batter hits a 4 – this goes to the batters score and the overall team runs scored for this delivery is 6). 8.6 All bowling to be bowled from one end only but batters will swap at the end of each over. 9. Fielding 9.1 Fielders in front of the batter must stand at least 8 yards from the batter or against the wall, whichever is the closest if they are under 18. 9.2 The umpire must stop the game if the rule is broken and move the fielder. 9.3 The batter can be caught off the side walls or ceiling but not the back wall. However if the ball was to hit the ceiling then front wall, the batter can still be caught off the front wall. 9.4 Teams can rotate fielders although those rotated in cannot bowl or bat 10. Scoring Please use standard score sheet 10.1 Add 2 extra runs to the team score for each no ball or wide bowled by the opposing team. 10.2 Extras should not be added to the batters score except where additional runs are scored a no ball is bowled 2 runs are added to the extras, the batter hits a 4 –this goes to the batters score and the overall team runs scored for this delivery is 6. 10.3. 1 run will be awarded if the ball hits the wall and the batter does not run 10.4 2 runs will be awarded if the ball does not hit the wall and the batters complete a run. 10.5 3 runs will be awarded if the ball hits the wall and the batters complete a run. 10.6 4 runs will be awarded if the ball hits the front wall without hitting the wall but bounces. 10.7 6 runs will be awarded if the ball hits the front wall without hitting the side walls but does not bounce 10.8 1 run will awarded when the ball hits the back wall 11. Results 11.1 The team with the highest score wins 11.2 A tied game is acceptable 11.3 3 points for a win, 2 for a draw or a tie and 1 point for losing 12. Cost 12.1 There will be a cost of £12 per Game per club COMPETITION and ATMOSPHERE The style of this tournament is “competitive with a friendly feel”. Please try and stay at the venue as much as possible to watch other matches to keep a good atmosphere. Use the time to get to know other teams. This will greatly benefit you when you come to organise and play your outdoor fixtures. Remember it is YOUR indoor league.
