What Happens
“All Clear Above &
Behind”
Wing tip holder checks that there are no hazards above or
behind the glider and replies “All clear above and behind,
sir.”
“Take up Slack”
Hold up one finger
The signaler replies “Take up slack, sir” and signals the
winch driver by sending a series of dashes by light. The
winch driver slowly takes the slack up until the cable is
tight.
“All Out”
Hold up two
fingers
The signaler replies “All out, sir” and signals the winch with
a series of dots by light. The winch driver increases speed
and launches the glider
