BankLink Practice setup
BankLink Practices can be linked directly with an accounting or super fund system to manage your clients’
accounts.
The principle advantage is BankLink Practice reads the client chart of accounts information directly.
Transactions are then coded using a combination of BankLink Practice features including memorisations,
master memorisations and the code entries screen. Transactions are then extracted to BGL Simple Fund.
To enable the default super fund system to BGL Simple Fund:
1. Select System | Practice Details | Superfund System
2. In the System Used field select BGL Simple Fund
3. Change the Account Mask to ###/###
4. Browse to the correct path for the Load Chart From and Save Entries To fields
To set up the link to BGL Simple Fund for a single client:
Note: Ensure you have exported the chart from BGL Simple Fund before you start these steps.
1. In BankLink Practice, open the required client file and select Other Functions | Accounting
System

default ###\###. Then click Load Defaults to bring up the pre-set up defaults for the practice
4. Leave Lock Chart of Accounts disabled
5. Change the client code for the Load Chart From and Save Entries to locations
Note: Keeping the client code the same in BankLink Practice and BGL Simple Fund makes it easy to
manage integration and files.
6. Click OK
7. Select Yes to refresh the chart

clients you wish to include in the bulk extract.

ASX Coding
Use ASX code in your BGL chart instead of BGL sub codes for dividend income and share trades to:

Remove the need to remember client specific sub codes
Enables efficient processing
In the clients Code Entries Screen add the ASX Column to the Column Headers
To include the ASX Column in the code entries screen:
4. Select View | Configure Columns
5. Highlight the ASX Code
6. Move Up to where you want it to appear in the code entries screen
Note: Higher up the list, column will sit to the left of the screen. Lower down moves toward the
right of the screen. Best Practice has ASX Code sitting near or close to the account column

Master memorisations
Master memorisations enable memorisations to apply to all client bank accounts for the same financial
institution and type of client (such as BGL Simple Fund client).
When creating a memorisation for a transaction, simply enable the Memorise to Master check box if you
wish this memorisation to apply to all bank accounts for the same financial institution in BankLink
Practice.
Ensure you use ASX codes for sub codes when creating master memorisations. Type the ASX code rather
than selecting from the Chart pick list.
Important: Master memorisations facility is available by default for every bank account. Select
Other Functions | Bank Accounts, Edit the bank account and disable Use Master Memorisation
Entries to exclude master memorisations being applied to transactions for the selected bank
account.
User setup
When creating a memorisation, the Memorise to Master option is greyed out if your user profile has
disabled the User can create and edit Master Memorisations checkbox. A system user can change your
profile if you wish to have permissions to create and edit master memorisations.
1. Select System | Users
2. Edit the user
3. Enable the User can create and edit Master Memorisations checkbox
