PGA of America Tennessee Section Tournament Manager – Job Posting Employment Notice The Tennessee Section PGA is one of the 41 sections that comprise the Professional Golfers’ Association of America. Formed in 1968, the objectives of the Tennessee PGA are to elevate the standards of the professional golfers' vocation, to promote the interest in the game of golf, to protect and advance the mutual interest of the Members, to conduct tournaments and offer educational opportunities for the employment and benefit of the Members, and to promote good relations with clubs and communities within The Tennessee Section's boundaries. In addition to providing services to golf professionals and to the golf industry, the Tennessee Section of the PGA offers an extensive tournament program within which professionals and amateurs can compete. REPORTS TO: Tournament Director QUALIFICATIONS and REQUIREMENTS Recommended three to five (3-5) years’ experience in golf administration Strong moral character and unquestionable integrity Excellent communication skills both written and verbal Creative mindset Knowledge of BlueGolf tournament software. Detail oriented and the ability to work on multiple projects Ability and willingness to travel frequently within the geographic boundaries of the Tennessee PGA Proficient computer skills including MS Office Suite of products, desktop and web page publishing Experience in golf tournament administration and operations Knowledge of the USGA Rules of Golf and its decisions College Degree Work schedule includes frequent weekends and some holidays Team player motivated by the success of the organization over any personal gain JOB DESCRIPTION Manage all Sanctioned Events and PAT Tournaments Assist with Core events and Tour Qualifiers Computer set-up and management of each tournament through BlueGolf Website updates and communication including pairings, results, and detailed tournament information. Perform marketing and communications duties related to tournaments. Media Relations point person- pre and post event press releases and event photography Travel to respective events and perform on-site management duties including marking of golf course, set-up of tents and other tournament equipment, Staff and Volunteer Coordinator at events Create and maintain annual player of the year points list Communicate and develop relationships with PGA members, sponsors, and other supporters of the Tennessee PGA Plan and execute various growth of the game initiatives within the Tennessee PGA Section (staff liaison for Growth of the Game Committee) Social Media manager for all TPGA outlets Assist with Business Development planning and implementation Perform other miscellaneous office responsibilities, including filing, answering the telephone, use of copy, fax and postage machines Perform other duties as assigned by the Tournament Director or Executive Director COMPENSATION PACKAGE Commensurate with experience Salary - $45,000 commensurate with experience Benefits Per Tennessee PGA Handbook: Medical, dental, vision and long term disability insurance 401k plan after one year of employment Paid Vacation Work related travel reimbursement Cellular phone plan Deadline for Application Tournament Manager Deadline: March 28, 2016 Position to be filled: As soon as possible Email cover letter and resume to: Adam Greeno, Tournament Director Tennessee PGA [email protected]
