Generating the School results Vs National Average Reports in Sims

Generating the School results Vs National Average Reports in Sims
This helpsheet details how to generate the KS1 comparative report (KS1 P2 Comparative England 2012).
The process is the same for the KS2 report (KS2 P2 Comparative England 2012), except you choose year
6 pupils instead of year 2.
Focus > Assessment > Individual Report
Click Search and highlight KS1 P2 Comparative England 2012. Click Open.
1
We need to select the group we are using for analysis. Click on Group.
PLEASE NOTE
If a pupil has left before the day of the teacher assessment , or a pupil has joined the school after the
day of the teacher assessment, or a combination of both, you will need to create an assessment defined
group. See the section later on in the helpsheet ‘Creating Assessment Defined Groups’ (page 7). If none
of these scenarios apply, continue working through the helpsheet (pages 3-6)
2
Open Year Group (by clicking on the + sign), highlight Year 2 and click Apply.
If you have created an Assessment Defined Group, open Assessment User Defined and highlight the
group you have created.
Next we need to tell Sims who we wish generate a copy of the report for. Click on Students.
3
Open Year Group and put a tick in Year 2, click Select All and then Apply.
As this is a generic report, it will be the same page for every child. Tick just one child and click Preview to
see a copy of the report on the screen. Click Enable Macros to generate the report. This can be printed
and photocopied.
4
Alternatively tick all the Students and click on Print to send all the reports to the printer.
5
Creating Assessment defined groups
Focus > Groups > Assessment Defined Groups
Click New
6
Complete as follows and click on Action > Add Student
7
You will need to search for current pupils first. Select Year Group 2 > Search
Highlight all the pupils then using the Ctrl key un-highlight those pupils not required. When your pupil
selection is correct click OK.
Again click on Add Student, this time search for any leavers that you wish to include. Change the status
to Leavers and hit Search. Highlight the pupils you require and click OK.
8
Click Save to save the group
