How was the School Council
elected?
Each class had an election. Everyone in our
class got to select who they thought would be
the best school council rep. This was done
secretly.
What do we do?

We meet every three weeks and we talk about any
issues we or our classmates have.
Miss Williams attends the meetings. Mrs Jones is our
link governor and she comes to meetings.
We ask our class if they would like us to talk about
anything.

We share this in the meetings and try to help.
●
We feedback our meetings to our classes.
●
We put the minutes of our meetings on our display
board and website.
Why are School Councils good?

Zac: “We can help each other.”
Ava: “We can talk about other peoples
problems and try to help.”
Bea: “We can share information.”
Thomas: ”Everyone has a direct line through
us to Mr. Rees.”
Kori: “If anyone needs help, we can help them.
We can speak to the teachers”.
What are we working on at the
moment?

We trying to raise money for more equipment
because a lot of our classmates want more
equipment to play with at playtime.
We are trying to keep the school safe. We
have been designing posters to help. Take a
look. We are working with the Healthy
Schools Committee on this.
We are trying to recycle more. We are working
with the Eco Council and hope to do more
recycling.
We work closely with other
committees.

Everyone in Ysgol Bro Tawe helps
each other!

Children in year 5/6 can be peer supporters.
Peer supporters help everyone on the yard to
get on and play fun games.
Some children in year 6 run the fruit
trolley – they do this in their own
break times.
We have a ‘Aros am ffrind' bench –
if we spot someone on there we go
and ask if they would like to play.

We all work hard to make sure that Ysgol Bro
Tawe is safe, tidy, healthy, fun and happy.
