General Information HomeRun is a residual insecticide for the control of ants, cockroaches, fleas, flies, mosquitoes and spiders in domestic, industrial and public health areas. HomeRun has both knockdown, residual and repellent activity against most insect species. Repellent activity may prevent insects coming into contact with residual deposits of HomeRun. HomeRun works through a variety of means: • Contact: Contact via a direct spray with HomeRun kills quickly. However most insects will not deliberately crawl over, or land on residual deposits of HomeRun. As the residual deposit wears off so does the effect of the repellent and insects become more inclined to crawl over or land on repellent activity treated surfaces. • Residual: HomeRun provides a protective residual barrier on treated surfaces for several weeks. • Repels: HomeRun repels insects from crawling over or landing on treated surfaces. For this reason it should not be used in conjunction with a baiting programme. HomeRun is a high quality suspension concentrate formulation with a very small particle size for optimum contact with insects. 90% of the active ingredient particles are smaller than 10 microns in diameter. HomeRun is suitable for treating all surfaces and gives improved residual activity compared to EC insecticide formulations on porous surfaces such as unpainted brick, concrete block, timber or fibrous cement. Directions for use: Situation Insect Pest Rate Critical Comments Houses, flats. factories, shops, warehouses, restaurants, meat and dairy processing plants. Ants, cockroaches, fleas, flies, mosquitoes and spiders. Initial Treatment: 50ml in 5 Litres of water. Apply as a spray at the rate of 5 Litres per 100 square metres or to the point of run-off, which will vary with the nature of the surface being treated. if lower rates or if misting equipment (eg B&G 2600 or Pioneer ULV) is used, the dilution rate should be adjusted so that 50ml HomeRun is applied per 100 square metres. Maintenance treatments: 25ml in 5 litres of water. MPI Approved type B (all animal products except dairy) AsureQuality approved Category C Food/Beverage/ dairy factory and storage areas (Category B point apply) Where to apply: Ants: nests, runs, walls, drains and wherever ants are seen. Cockroaches: cracks and crevices, walls, skirting boards, cupboards, behind sinks, stoves and pipes. Fleas: floors, carpets, skirting boards, kennels, animal bedding and adjacent wall area. Flies and Mosquitoes: walls, ceilings, skirting boards and all exposed surfaces where flying insects may rest. Spiders: nests and known hiding places, and exposed surfaces where spiders are seen. Important - Food Contamination • Do not allow spray to contact food, food preparation surfaces or food utensils. • Remove or cover all foodstuffs before application. • Do not use in areas where edible dairy or meat products are processed, packed or stored. • Do not use where food packaging materials (cartons, liners etc) are stored or assembled. • Do not use near air vents or ducts in food stores or processing plants while they are in operation. • Wash all food contact surfaces thoroughly before reintroducing any foodstuffs. Caution: Spray applicators should take precautions to avoid contact with concentrated spray or spray solution by wearing gloves, eye protection, long-sleeved overalls and facemask. HomeRun may cause a burning sensation (parathaesia) if it contacts the skin or eyes. When HomeRun is used via misting equipment, the spray should be surface applied and not directed into the air. For all applications at least 3 hours should be allowed before re-entry after spraying. This allows for thorough ventilation and any airborn spray particles to settle.
