TRYOUTS
Tryouts begin on February 22, 2010. We will carry approximately 18
players on both Varsity and JV. The girls will be evaluated using the following
criteria:
1. Coachability – work effort
2. Toughness and aggressiveness
3. Fitness
4. Chemistry - teamwork
5. Stick skills
6. Speed and quickness
7. Raw athletic ability – potential and instincts
8. Game sense
9. Positive attitude
10. Plays with heart and a love for the game
All the girls need to put their priorities in order- family, schoolwork, sports and
then social life. Staying healthy and getting enough sleep is important, turn the
cell phones and computers off at night at a reasonable time. Eating well, starting
with a healthy breakfast, is essential for all athletes to be successful.
SCHEDULES
Practices will be Monday – Friday from 4-6pm. Practices are mandatory. If
a player is going to have to miss a practice she should let one of the coaches
know immediately via an email or a call.
Games begin in early March. The schedules will be finalized soon and posted on
the girls’ lacrosse page on tcwilliamsathletics.org. All games are during the 5 day
work week. Varsity games are always at 7:15pm and JV games are always at
6:00pm.
PLAYER RESPONSIBILITY AND BEHAVIOR
1. Every player should show and take responsibility on and off the
field
2. Make good choices
3. Take responsibility for your actions and your play, no blaming
others
4. Good sportsmanship- no cursing, no throwing sticks, no poor body
language, no rolling of eyes and no talking back to coaches or
officials.
5. Work hard in the classroom – no detentions.
6. Remember, lacrosse players are representing TC Williams and
should act accordingly at all times
7. Be a good citizen
8. Absolutely no drug or alcohol use.
