SPONSORED BY: Morehead City Little League 1st Annual Crystal Coast Home Run Derby When: Thursday, July 21st, 2016 Registration, 5:00 - 6:00pm Hitting begins: 6:30pm Where: Morehead City, Swinson Park, Fields 2 & 3 Cost: $15.00 per player Eligibility: Crystal Coast Wood Bat Tournament Team players ages 10 and under, 11, and 12 years old (age based on age as of July 21, 2016) Trophies & Prizes for 1st & 2nd place in each age division *****Food concessions available at event****** **Full concessions available during event** ** For more information, go to moreheadcitylittleleague.org ** Morehead City Little League/ USSSA Wood Bat World Series Home Run Derby Eligibility: Must be a player on a team rostered, participating in the 5th Annual Crystal Coast Wood Bat World Series. A $15 entry fee must be paid per batter. Three age divisions will be created 10 and under, 11, and 12 years of age based on player Ages on 21 July 2016. Players are encouraged to wear their team jerseys during the event. Equipment: MCLL will provide baseballs. Batters must provide their own helmet and use a USSSA approved metal or wood bat for their age division. All batters must wear their team shirts. Pitchers: 10, 11 and 12 Age Divisions may use an adult of their choosing behind an L Screen set up by MCLL. A pitcher will be provided if a player does not provide his or her own. ROUNDS: Round 1: All batters get 15 outs. A HR is not an out but every other missed swing or hit ball is an out. Batters do not have to swing at every pitched ball but will be limited to 2 minutes or 15 outs. To advance to the 2nd round a batter must hit at least 1 HR. A HR is considered 1 point. HR must be in fair territory. MCLL will have judges to determine HR and fair or foul. Round 2: 10 outs per batter. Top 4 in points and any tied batters go to round 3. Round 3: 10 outs per batter. Top 2 in points go to Final round. Any ties will get 3 additional swings until tie is broken. Final Round: 10 outs per batter. Most HR is champion. Any ties get additional 3 pitches. Ties after that will be determined by cumulative home runs in all rounds if needed. Miscellaneous: Each round stands on it on. Prizes awarded to the Top 2 in each Age Division. Number of outs per batter in every round could change at the discretion of MCLL based on number of entrants and time restraint. 10 year and under age division will hit on a field set up with a 180 ft. fence. MCLL decisions are based on a consensus from the MCLL Board Members present during the Home Run Derby. MCLL has the right to change, add, or modify any of the rules or formats of the Home Run Derby at any time it deems necessary.
