DETAILED REVIEW OF CARGO TURNOVER RESULTS
AT THE EASTERN BALTIC PORTS
(Comparison of results for January-August 2010 and 2011)
During the reporting period, the total cargo handling at the Eastern Baltic ports amounted to 207
328,4 thous. tons, change by +8,6 % or by +16 342,7 thous. tons. During the same period, Būtingė terminal
handled 5 825,7 thous. tons of oil products (herein further the turnover of Būtingė terminal is not
analyzed).

-1 629,8 thous. tons less than in January-August 2010. Oil and oil products are the main types of cargo
handled at the Primorsk port. During the reporting period the port handled 46 084,3 thous. tons of crude
oil, 4 902,8 thous. tons of oil products.
SAINT PETERSBURG PORT handled 39 491,6 thous. tons of cargo in total, change by +6,7 %
or by +2 465,4 thous. tons more than during the corresponding period of 2010.

thous. tons. Coal accounts for the largest share of cargo turnover at this port this year – 8 903,2 thous. tons
were handled, that makes 38,1 % of the total turnover at the port. During the analyzed period in 2010, the
neighbouring port handled 7 555,3 thous. tons of coal, that makes 38,3 % of the total turnover at this port.
