Hey (insert name),
I hope your book(s) are selling well!
Today I wanted to talk about Fiction books versus Non-Fiction and which one is better.
I think that there are pros and cons to both markets.
Now, personally I have stuck to the Non-Fiction market. I’ve done this simply because I
outsource my books, and it can be quite tough getting fiction books outsourced.
It can be done however, but it’s normally a lot more expensive, and you never really know
what kind of quality you’ll be getting.
So for me, non-fiction is a lot easier. I can find a topic, pay someone to research that topic,
and then write a quality book about it.
Not so easy to do with Fiction. With Fiction you need to have an idea. This is something
suited to creative people, which is not my strong suit, I’m afraid.
On the other hand, the Fiction market is a lot bigger than Non-Fiction. There are more
people buying books, the fans are often more passionate, and you can get away with
charging a bit more for your books.
So yes, Fiction can be a lot more lucrative!
Now, before you all go and switch from Non-Fiction to Fiction, you need to be aware of a
few things.
While Fiction is more lucrative, it can also be quite competitive.
It’s tough to target any specific keywords.
It can be hard to find interested buyers in the first place.
Overall, it can be a LOT harder than Non-Fiction.
But with that being said, once your book becomes popular, you can build a passionate
following fast! Each successive book you release in a series will be a success, and there is
potential to become a famous author.
In fact, some people that self-publish Fiction books on Amazon have had their books made
into TV shows!
The possibilities are huge, but so are the obstacles, challenges, and the chances of failing.
With that being said, I’d be interested to know what kinds of books you write and publish?
Are they Fiction, Non-Fiction, or maybe both?
Also, what kind of success have you experienced?
I’d love to heard from some of you and get some feedback as to what’s working for you! If
you’d like, please simply reply to this email and let me know!
Anyway, I hope you found this to be informative if you were trying to choose between
starting with Fiction or Non-Fiction. All the best with whatever route you choose to take!
Until next time,
