Meal Plans Required
Students living in Baker, Barnett, Walton, the Suites
or Residence Hall East/West are required to have a
meal plan. There are several options available to fit
a variety of lifestyles.

Pay the room deposit through the McKendree
University Business Department. Paying your
room deposit will let you register for housing.
The room deposit is $200.
Fill out your housing application. On the housing
application, you will be able to rank the living
options you prefer, as well as pick your meal
plan. After filling out your application, please complete
the Confidential Medical History and
Immunization Record, which can be found online
at https://www.mckendree.edu/offices/healthservices/. Illinois state law requires the University
have these records on file for all students living in
University housing.
Check your McKendree e-mail for a housing
notification. Residence Life begins sending these
out in mid-June to students who have completed
all other steps. You will not receive your
notification until your room deposit has been
received and your immunization record
processed. The housing notification will tell you
where you will be living, your meal plan, who you
will be your roommate(s), and the date you can
move in.
Visit the website to view the amenities included
with your housing placement. Contact your
roommate(s) to get to know them and discuss who
will bring specific items for the room.
DAY OF MOVE-IN
Travel safely to the McKendree Campus.
Once you arrive at McKendree, check
the map provided to locate your
residential area. Once you have located your residential area,
complete the check-in process with
Residence Life staff to receive your keys. Once
you receive your keys, check out your room.
Once you have looked at your room,
unload your personal items in the
designated unloading areas. Please
move your vehicles so others can
unload after you.
Once you place your belongings in your new
room, please check in for New Student
Orientation (NSO). NSO check-in will take
place from 8 AM-10 AM* on the grass
between Walton Hall and Barnett Hall.
Attend Convocation at 11 AM on the
front lawn, and remember Convocation
is a business casual event.
*Arrive after 10 AM for NSO? All NSO material will be in the
Admissions Office in the Piper Academic Center (PAC) after 10 AM. WHAT TO BRING

Laundry
McKendree University offers numerous laundry facilities around
campus. Once you arrive on campus, we suggest that you talk to a
Residence Life staff member to locate the nearest laundry facilities. All
laundry machines require quarters to operate. Change Machines
McKendree has two locations on campus where students can
exchange $1 and $5 bills for quarters.
