Logan City Council
Logan's Anzacs
Logan's Anzacs aims to research and uncover the stories of soldiers
from the City of Logan who served between 1914 and 1918, using the
skills of a professional researcher. A comprehensive database will be
compiled based on service records and archival material, and a series of
stories will be developed that tell of specific contributions to the First
World War. The research will also find out what happened to them on
their return, if they returned, and trace any of their descendants who may
be living in Logan and seek out memorabilia to flesh out their stories.
The project will produce new commemorative content, through oral
stories, photographs, news cuttings and memorabilia, which will be
digitised to become a permanent record in Logan City Council’s growing
Local Studies collection of images and stories. Key stories from the
research will form the basis of a small travelling exhibition of pull-up
banners that will be available for loan to libraries, schools and RSLs in
the City of Logan, and be uploaded to Historypin.
