CHAPTER 1
1.0
1.0.1
GETTING STARTED
CHARGING YOUR SKYCADDIE TOUCH
Your SkyCaddie
Touch will receive
a relatively faster
and more complete
charge when you
recharge it via a
wall outlet.
1.0.2
Always make sure that your SkyCaddie TOUCH is fully charged prior
to play. It is recommended that you recharge your SkyCaddie
TOUCH after each round to ensure that it is always ready to play
whenever you are. If the battery level is low, a full recharge may take
4-6 hours. While it is also possible to charge your TOUCH via a
computer that is powered on or via a car charger, using a wall outlet
will charge your TOUCH in less time.
CHARGING YOUR TOUCH USING A WALL OUTLET
1. Pull back the rubber cover located on the
bottom of your SkyCaddie TOUCH to gain
access to the micro-USB port.
2. Take the cable that is included in the
box, insert the micro-USB connector into
the open port and insert the other end of
the cable into the power adapter
included in the box.
3. Plug the power adapter into an open wall
outlet or surge protector.
4. Your SkyCaddie will automatically begin
charging and the LED will flash if the
battery is not fully charged. The LED will
become solid when fully charged.
1.0.3
If your TOUCH is
powered ON when
connecting it to a
wall charger, it will
automatically
power OFF when
fully charged. If it
isn’t powered ON
when connecting it
to a wall charger,
your TOUCH will
remain OFF, while
the LED will still
indicate the state
of the battery.
CHARGING YOUR SKYCADDIE TOUCH USING YOUR COMPUTER
Your SkyCaddie TOUCH will charge when it is connected to a
computer that is powered on. Simply connect the USB end of the
cable to your computer and the micro-USB end to the TOUCH. If
your TOUCH is powered on, it will initially display the “Sync” screen
and then will indicate that your TOUCH is being charged. Your
SkyCaddie will automatically begin charging and the LED will flash.
When fully charged, the LED will become solid.

GROUND MAPPED COURSES FOR YOUR SKYCADDIE TOUCH
Did You Know?
Since SkyGolf
started back in
2001, until the
release of the
SkyCaddie
TOUCH, our
Mappers have
walked more than
298,320 miles —
a distance that is
the equivalent of
walking 12 times
around the Earth!
2.2.1
Your SkyCaddie TOUCH requires the use of maps to provide
distance information on the device. SkyCaddie uses the only method
that Tour caddies use to provide distances to their Pros: we walk the
course. With a course library of over 35,000 maps, worldwide,
SkyCaddie maintains the largest ground-mapped course database in
the world. No one else uses this method, because it is very expensive
in terms of labor and money. SkyCaddie invests thousands of manhours and millions of dollars every year to maintain our groundmapped course library because we believe your game is worth it. Our
members trust the information that their SkyCaddie provides them,
which is why SkyCaddie has remained the leader in this technology.
Our course map library is growing daily. Whenever we receive a
notification that a course layout has changed, we send a mapper out
to re-map the course, so that our members have the most up-to-date
distance information in the game.
Your SkyCaddie TOUCH comes pre-loaded with over 35,000 courses
error-corrected, high-definition course maps, which include HoleVue
and IntelliGreen. In addition, your SkyCaddie TOUCH also has the
capacity to store up to 100 of your favorite courses with Vivid HD
graphics, which will be automatically updated with the latest
information every time your sync via the USB cable or with the
convenience of Bluetooth.
FREE 30-DAY COURSE MAP EVALUATION
Your SkyCaddie TOUCH includes a 30-day trial in order to play with
your TOUCH right out of the box. The complimentary 30-day trial
period will begin after your first round of golf. After the trial period
you will need to complete the registration process and sign up for a
SkyGolf membership plan that best suits your playing requirements.
See www.shop.skygolf.com for more details.

screen will display if “Prompt Score is turn ON (see section 3.4.3).
Your TOUCH does not automatically track your scores, however
you can enter them after you play each hole. (Also see section 3.4
for more related to scoring.)
•
Line of Play: Whether you can see what’s ahead or not, you can
measure to any point on the hole by moving the cursor in the
yellow intended line of play. Simply press and hold anywhere on
the HoleVue screen to adjust its position. Drag your finger to the
intended position and then lift up off the screen. The SkyCaddie
TOUCH will now calculate distances to this new position. (See
section 3.1.3.)
•
Green Distance: To enlarge and access detailed information on

YOUR LINE OF PLAY
Create a personal fairway target:
When you first open a hole, the TOUCH will
automatically draw a yellow line between
your current location and the recommended
target for your tee shot, based on the par for
the current hole. If you would like to adjust
the recommended target, use your finger to
drag the cursor to anywhere on the hole. The
distance from your location to the target and
the remaining distance to the green will
instantly appear. After adjusting, the
recommended target still appears on the
screen as a red icon for reference.
Zooming IN or OUT:
Pressing the “+” and “-” buttons below the screen will allow you to
zoom three levels of the HoleVue graphic, centered around the
position of your fairway target. The first level of zoom provides a
closer look at the fairway, the second level may include a closer view
of the hazards that will affect your approach shot, and the third level
zooms directly to IntelliGreen. While on IntelliGreen, press the “+”
button once more to return to return to HoleVue.
If you are in close proximity to the green, HoleVue will automatically
display the IntelliGreen screen to help you manage your approach
shot.

* All views may not be available on all courses.
AUTO VIEW TECHNOLOGY
AutoView, when combined with SkyCaddie’s other intelligent
automation features including AutoCourse Select, AutoHole Advance,
HoleVue’s AutoZoom and IntelliGreen’s AutoGreen rotation (aligns

OVERVIEW OF INTELLIGREEN® AND ONSCREEN FEATURES
SkyGolf’s proprietary IntelliGreen® technology graphically displays
the true shape of the green, automatically rotating it to match your
angle of approach. It turns every shot into a scoring opportunity by
providing front carry and back distances, depth of green, and
distances to any other point on the green — simultaneously. If the
Advanced Feature Course you are playing has the HoleVue feature,
you will be able to see greenside hazards including bunkers and
water with IntelliGreen. Each distance is determined by the position
of the crosshairs in relationship to your current position.
Using the touch screen, you can dynamically interact with the
IntelliGreen. If RangeVue® is on, you will see yardage arcs displayed
with preset distances, for quicker club selection. Press anywhere
outside the outline of the green to display or hide Dynamic
RangeVue.
•
To get a distance to any point on the green, press anywhere
inside the green to move the crosshairs to that position.

This view also includes the automatic depth of the green and the
distance from your last mark, if you used the Mark Ball feature on the

green for your line of approach. (See section 3.1.3 for more
instructions on marking your shots.)

3.3.1
INTELLIGREEN® PRO
NOTE:
Not all greens or
all courses have
noteworthy, major
green contours to
require this
feature. In
conformance with
USGA regulations,
SkyCaddie does
not factor slopes
or gradients into
distance
calculations.
Built on proven IntelliGreen technology, IntelliGreen Pro feature offers
all of the functionality of IntelliGreen, plus the ability to display major
tiers, contours, false fronts and mounds from your angle of approach
to the green. As with IntelliGreen, you can toggle the RangeVue
feature on or off for quick, present yardages by pressing anywhere
on the screen. You can drag the IntelliGreen crosshairs to the ridge
lines on the image of the green to get instant distances and depth
information to major tiers. This kind of crucial scoring information is
only possible by precision-mapping a golf course from the ground. If
an Advanced Feature Course map has an IntelliGreen Pro feature,
your TOUCH will use this version of IntelliGreen by default.
IntelliGreen Pro feature Reminder: You can toggle RangeVue on or
off on the IntelliGreen and IntelliGreen Pro screens simply by
pressing anywhere on the screen, outside the image of the green.

for each hole. A negative number represents strokes under par; a
positive number represents strokes over par. An “E” displays if you
complete a hole at par. When you are finished viewing this screen,
you can either press “Exit” (in AutoView) or the “Back” button to
return to the Green View, and continue with your round, or press the

HELPFUL HINTS
•
Never disconnect or turn off your SkyCaddie TOUCH while it is
syncing, either via a USB cable connection to your computer or
via a Bluetooth® wireless technology connection to your smart
device. Wait until it is finished communicating before you
disconnect it, power it off, or power off your computer.
•
Turn on your SkyCaddie TOUCH outdoors, with a clear view of
the sky, to receive satellite signals. Give it an initial five minutes to
warm-up before play.
•
While the omni-directional, high-performance GPS antenna has
been designed to lock quickly to more satellites and stay locked
to maintain performance in all terrains, it is still a good idea to
avoid being around buildings, obstructions, heavy foliage, low
areas with adjacent obstructions, or reflective objects (such as
metal/glass structures) while using the TOUCH.
•
The higher the strength on the GPS Signal Indicator, the higher
the accuracy. The best signal strength is obtained in open areas,
with the antenna pointing toward the sky at a 45° to 90° angle.
Holding the TOUCH away from your body may improve signal
strength in weak areas. It is normal for the satellite signal strength
indicator to fluctuate as you move around the golf course.
•
To maintain optimal accuracy during play, ensure that your
SkyCaddie TOUCH is always on, that it is in an upright position
and that it has a clear view of the sky. Do not put the SkyCaddie
TOUCH in your pocket.
•
Do not turn the TOUCH on and off during play. The TOUCH is a
“smart system” that continues to download data from satellites to
adjust to your environment during play. It is designed to stay on
continuously during a round of golf. Turning it on and off will
interrupt satellite communication and slow down play. If you take
a long break at the turn, you may turn your SkyCaddie off to
conserve battery power. When you turn it back on, remember to
allow 5-10 minutes for it to return to optimal GPS accuracy. In the
Main Menu, press “Resume” to continue your round.
•
Fully charge the battery before each round.

Page 33
SkyCaddie® TOUCH User Guide
•
DO NOT use AC chargers or USB cables that did not come with
or are not authorized for use with your TOUCH. The wrong
adapters or cables may damage the TOUCH.
•
Sync your TOUCH regularly. Syncing regularly allows the TOUCH
to keep running at peak performance. Syncing allows you to
check alerts for new features and software updates; automatically
upload your latest scorecard to SkyGolf 360, update your course
maps, and download add Vivid HD maps to your list of courses.
•
DO NOT expose your TOUCH to extreme temperatures. Treat it
like you would your cell phone.
•
Your SkyCaddie TOUCH is designed for wet conditions that
exceed those typically encountered while playing golf. Still, you
should take care not to expose your SkyCaddie TOUCH to water,
as too much exposure to water may cause damage, such as
might happen if you drop your SkyCaddie TOUCH into the water
hazard while looking for your ball. If you do get your SkyCaddie
TOUCH wet, do not attempt to dry it with an external heat source
like a microwave oven or hair dryer. SkyCaddie TOUCH devices
that do manage to get water damaged are generally not
serviceable.
•
Never attempt to repair or modify your SkyCaddie TOUCH
yourself. Disassembling your SkyCaddie TOUCH will void the
warranty. Your SkyCaddie TOUCH does not contain any userserviceable parts. Service should only be provided by a SkyGolf®
Authorized Service Provider. If your SkyCaddie TOUCH has been
punctured, or subjected to a severe fall, do not use it until you
contact an Authorized Service Provider. The rechargeable battery
in your SkyCaddie TOUCH is not user-replaceable and should be
replaced by a SkyGolf Authorized Service Provider only. For
service information, go to www.SkyCaddie.com.

APPENDIX C
BATTERY INFORMATION AND SAFETY REQUIREMENTS
Failure to comply with all of the following precautions could:
•
Cause personal injury or property damage
•
Cause abnormal chemical reactions which would make the battery over
heat, smoke, distort, leak, explode, or catch on fire
•
Destroy internal protections built into the battery
•
Shorten battery life
•
Reduce battery performance
•
The TOUCH battery has been rigorously tested, and is in fully in compliance
with applicable UN, ITC, IATA, and other regulatory requirements for
batteries of this type.
•
The TOUCH with battery installed has been further tested and is in full
compliance with MIL-STD 810F standards for surviving high and low air
pressure environments; storage and operation at extremes of temperature
and humidity; rapid changes in temperature; extended periods of vibration;
repeated drops onto a hard surface on each side, edge, and corner; blowing
dust and sand; and drenching, torrential rain.
•
Use only a SkyGolf-supplied charger with your TOUCH.
•
Do not leave your TOUCH attached to a charger or a USB port for over 24
hours. Under the recommended conditions, a completely discharged
TOUCH battery should completely re-charge in about 4 to 4.5 hours when
on the charging screen.
•
Do not charge the TOUCH in a place where it could become over heated by
direct sunlight, a stove, a fire, or other source of extreme heat.
•
Keep the TOUCH away from sources of high voltage or static discharge.
•
If your TOUCH will be stored for an extended period, allow the battery to
discharge to approximately one half capacity before storage.
•
Store the TOUCH in a place where it will not experience temperatures or
absolute humidity over 85%.
