As a valued member of our school ambassador network we are
pleased to provide you and your students with a unique and exciting
opportunity to participate in our school gala day cup competition:
The Inaugural Western Sydney Wanderers FC School Cup.
WHAT WE AIM TO PROVIDE YOU
• A participation friendly gala day competition that further
strengthens the links between Football and the achievement
of your school’s PDHPE curriculum outcome.
• A professionally run, fun filled exciting football competition that will enhance
participation, enjoyment and unity through football both in school and on
weekends.
• An increased focus for your staff and students around fitness, health and the
benefits of an active lifestyle.
COMPETITION FORMATS
There will be three competitions per zone event:
Primary Stage 3 - (Years 5-6) teams can be mixed or single gender teams
depending on your school
Secondary Stage 4 - (Years 7-8 Boys and Year 7-8 Girls)
• If your school is successful in progressing to the next phase of the
competition it will require your school to progress to another whole day
gala event in your local football association zone.
• The ultimate prize will see your school play at a Western
Sydney Wanderers HAL fixture in the 2013-2014 season.
WHAT IS REQUIRED OF YOU?
For your school to enter we need you to notify a dedicated School Ambassador
by sending the following information to [email protected].
Name of Ambassador; Personal Email; Name of School; Address of
School; Principal; Mobile Number; School Phone; School Email.
COST
The entry cost is $40 per team and is a one off payment.
WHICH ZONE IS BEST FOR YOU?
Phase One of the competition is a Zone Gala Day. The schools zones are
determined by the Secondary public sport zones. For all primary, catholic
and independent schools you have the opportunity to select the zone
closest to you.

following table.

ALL you need to know
Q How many players are required per squad?
It will be a full size field- 11 v 11 competitions for all ages.
Q Is it a Gala day format?
Yes
Q Can you enter more than one team per school in
each competition?
Yes you can enter more than one team per school in each
competition with the maximum two per age group.
Q What ages are the competitions for?
Stage 3 - U/12 can be students in any age,
must be in year group 5 or 6.
Stage 4 - Students must be in Year 7 & 8.
Q Are they single gender completions?
For Stage 3 - NO
For Stage 4 - There will be two separate competitions a boys
comp and a girls comp.
Q Will they all run together on the same day?
Yes each zone will host all three competitions simultaneously.
Q Will there be collapsed competitions if we are unable to
field enough teams?
Yes we will, and then we will notify all the schools.
Q Why do we have the deadline of May 17th to send the entry
forms to [email protected]?
This will help us to provide each school with at least two weeks
notice for individual completions details.
Q How do we know if the event will be postponed due to
wet weather?

regarding wet weather.
Q Will there be a time schools be notified?
Yes the posting will either be the day before but at the latest
6am the day of the competition.
Q Do you cater for senior students or senior schools?
Yes they can be used to help assist with the running of the
competition etc. We will need to be notified by filling in the
team entry form and in the return email please leave a note
saying that these students are seniors and will help at the
tournament.
Q What time will the competition start and finish?
The day will run during a normal school day, each competition
will be different based on field and team numbers. All schools
will be given a draft draw and instructions on arrival to the
venue. It will be the schools responsibility to send out and
collect all permission slips, organise uniform/playing strips, other
logistics for their teams. Players are to wear shin pads, long
socks and football boots.
Q Is it $40 per team?
Yes it is $40 per team (maximum 16 players per team)
= $2.50 per student
Q How do I pay my team $40 Entry Fee?
We will notify you how to pay that fee in a separate email, but
we encourage you to collect the money from the students and
be prepared to send a cheque. We will send the account details
for cheques in a sperate email.
