TAS: Electronic Time Reporting Process
Benefits Eligible Employees
Instructions for Entering Hours:
STEP 1: Log into TAS (https://tas.asu.edu/)
TIP: Save the TAS login to your Favorites or add to your Favorite bar for easy access.
If you are an employee who is hourly (reports actual hours worked), skip to STEP 3 (page 2).
STEP 2: Salary employee enters vacation and/or sick leave requests in TAS for supervisor’s approval.

Under the “My Requests” tab go to the:
 New Request, New Vacation or New Sick Request tabs
If submitting a request that overlaps two different pay periods, you must submit 2 different
requests; one for each pay period.
For each applicable tab:
1. Enter “Type” using the drop down arrow,
2. Select the “From” and “To” Dates/times
Watch the “AM” and “PM” designation.
3. Enter the number of hours requested in “Hours”
TAS does not calculate the hours requested according to the “From” and “To” selection. Be sure to
double-check the “Hours” field to make sure it is correct for your supervisor to review.
4. Include a short “Reason”
5. When finished, click on the “Submit Request” button
Once your request is submitted, an e-mail notification will be sent to your supervisor and a response will
be sent to you via email. You can view the status of your request in TAS.
If your request was approved but was incorrect or it is now past the date of the request and the system
won’t let you edit it, notify your supervisor who can then delete the request and then you will need to re-

submit a correct one.
SUPERVISOR: “How to approve/decline requests” section

Skip to STEP 4.
STEP 3: Hourly employee enters actual hours worked and vacation and/or sick leave requests in TAS for supervisor’s
approval.
o
Under the “My Requests” tab go to the:
 Hours Worked tab to enter hours actually worked and the
 New Request, New Vacation or New Sick Request tabs to request leave.

week day.

STEP 4: Employee enters approved Worked Hours and Leave Hours into PeopleSoft

Use the link from the approval email
OR log into MyASU
 Click on the Time and Leave Reporting link under Time in the My Employment box

 Non-Exempt (Hourly) Staff
 HRY- Regular hours
 SCP- Sick Leave Hourly
 VAH- Vacation Hourly
 Exempt Staff
 SCP- Sick Leave Hourly
 VAH- Vacation Hourly

SUPERVISOR ONLY: How to approve/decline requests
Log into TAS (STEP 1) TAS (https://tas.asu.edu/)

Click on the “Staff Requests” tab to view all current requests.
o Click anywhere on the row to view the details of the request.
o Click on “Approve” or “Deny” and add any comments
A e-mail notification will be sent to the employee.
What do I do if my employee needs to change a request that has already been approved and it is now past the
date in which the request was for?
As their supervisor, you will need to delete the request and have the employee re-submit a corrected one.
