Please contact Maxine Coyle Not all the tree bases on Monton Road have been replaced, so the committee was asked if MVCA should carry on with this. Action – Maxine Coyle to provide full proposal and costing for September meeting Gardeners still required for Sundays, between 10.00 and 12.00 – call for volunteers please – contact Florence McCarthy. Louise Adkin from On Our Doorstep has offered to advertise this. Action – Louise Adkin Heritage bins need painting. Action – Julie Gosney to organise painting session and volunteers Membership Committee 16 more resident members joined at the festival Business members total 24 / Residents = 40 Areas to look at are administration / group membership database / value proposition of membership. Action - Andrew Broadhead to come to next meeting with costings Andrew Broadhead and Ian James discussed the brands of MVCA and I love Monton – would like to propose using both brands to raise membership levels within the community Loyalty card which can be used in Monton shops etc to offer discounts was proposed. The MVCA committee voted on this and it was decided that the Membership Committee should progress this further. Action – Andrew Broadhead and Ian James Stef Lorenz is having preliminary meetings with traders to discuss loyalty card and to gauge interest Marketing; PR and Communications Sara Hughes raised the fact that MVCA appears to have 2 Twitter accounts – Action – Ian James to review Action – Ian James is looking at a strategy over the next 2 months to bring to next meeting in September, as all social media needs a good revamp Website / Twitter / Facebook should be all “by the community, for the community” Finance A further account was identified with Santander with signatories who were no were no longer MVCA officers or deceased: Names / Signatures to be removed from the accounts are: Rick McGarry, Ailsa Cranna, Honorah Barker and Mrs J Behan. Names / Signatures to be added to the accounts are: Maxine Coyle (Secretary) and Julie Gosney (Treasurer). Account details are Current A/c 06846081 090154 and Deposit A/c 51675485 090153 Action - Treasurer Julie Gosney Members decided to close this account along with our other Santander account and transfer the monies into our Nat West account once Maxine and Julie are added to the accounts. Action - Treasurer Julie Gosney Festival Committee General comments about the festival are that the standards have gone up and the festival is better organised. However quality of stalls may need some further work – local produce? Living Quarter – raffle held on the day to be divided between MVCA and local village charities Julie Gosney, Treasurer stated that potential ballpark figure for profit taken on the day by MVCA will be £4200, which can be used for local events and campaigns, going forward There will be a post festival review meeting on September 24th at 6.00 at Blacksticks Plans are already being discussed for a festival in 2014. Action - Lisa Stone and Peter Wheeler to give MVCA an update by next meeting please Maxine Coyle has circulated a copy of the Salford Volunteer Charter http://www.salfordcvs.co.uk/salford-volunteer-charter - Chair, Liz Harris is keen that members of MVCA sign up to this, and copies will be brought to September’s meeting. Action – Liz Harris Stef Lorenz has suggested that there should be noticeboards, in keeping with the village – to be looked into Drainage repair works by Urban Vision from 5th August along Monton Road, between Clifton Road and Cavendish Grove, and then moving up to Monton Road at the junction of Monton Avenues and Monton Road for 2 weeks – temporary traffic lights will be in operation AOB Stef Lorenz asked if would be possible to invite a Farmers’ Market to the summer festival? Action - Julie Gosney to resurrect contact details Thanks came from resident, Julie Gosney for the speed camera on Lansdowne Road, which seems to have had an effect on the speed of the heavy good vehicles. Peter Wheeler is assessing data – potential for 20 mph speed limit. Action – Peter Wheeler Fred Corvett asked the committee to look into a tribute for former Eccles councillor Ann Davies who died in July – Action – Maxine Coyle Pam Ward asked if committee dates could be more visible on the website Action – Ian James Treasurer, Julie Gosney advised that the Say No Campaign, which has been wound up, has decided to donate the remainder of its fundraising money to MVCA.
