RUGGEREDS ASSISTANT COACH JOB DESCRIPTION
The role of the Assistant Coach is to be responsible for the delivery of the
sessions, ensuring that the delivery takes place in a safe and secure
environment and that the sessions are fun, educational and introduce the
core skills of rugby.
Working with the Head Coach and Senior Coaches to deliver a high
standard and interactive session.

Main Duties



To be responsible for the delivery
of coaching sessions as defined in
the
RuggerEds
Operational
Manual.
To arrive on site at least 45
minutes
before
the
commencement of the session in
order to allow you to set up the
area in the prescribed manner,
check playing surfaces for any
hazards and ensure that the
facility is fit for purpose.
To ensure that whilst on-site or
delivering a session that you are
correctly attired in official
RuggerEds kit including name
Skills Required







Hold an appropriate coaching
qualification.
Good knowledge and
understanding of the sport.
Great organisational skills.
Confident, with good leadership
skills.
Ability to communicate in a
positive and professional manner
at all times with groups of
individuals and with
parents/guardians.
Ability to report on progress to
Parents/guardians both written
and verbally.
Hold a current driving license









coaching and training sessions.
To welcome participants into the
session, complete the weekly
register and collect any session
fees.
Ensure the participants are
correctly attired, i.e. TAG belts,
name tagged and have proper
training gear etc.
To monitor, evaluate and
feedback on participants and be
able to communicate this, along
with the Head Coach in a positive
manner to parents and guardians
as required.
Participate in coach development
activities and recruitment from
within the club/venue.
To attend competitions with team
and/or players.
To
maintain
high
ethical
standards in coaching.
Ensure that knowledge, skills and
qualifications are kept up to date.



The Commitment we are looking for
Attendance at weekly after schools sessions and weekend sessions at a Club venue
throughout the year. Attendance at competitions, camps as required. Monitor and
maintain accurate records from each session, this will require you to be IT literate and
be competent in the use of Word, Excel etc.
A desire from you to work in Youth Sports or Early Years Coaching and a genuine
interest to develop a career with a rapidly expanding organisation.

We pay you for each session you participate in, the hourly rate will be determined
prior to your appointment – this is generally based on delivery time NOT set-up or
travelling to venue time.
Payment is made directly into your Bank Account on a Monthly basis on receipt of an
approved timesheet signed by your Head Coach/Franchise Principle
Your RuggerEds Franchise will pay for any necessary Rugby, CRB, Safeguarding or
1st Aid related training to ensure that you are fully qualified to work within the teams.
Besides the qualification and practical experience gained, we hope to be able to
develop your personal and communication skills and give you an opportunity of
working within a progressive and fast moving company.

RuggerEds Ltd is an exciting new Company promoting Rugby to 3 – 9 year olds,
using education and promoting the Core Values of Good Manners, Respect,
Communication, Team Work and Fair Play.
Since its launch in May 2011 has an impressive track record of growth and now
delivers sessions at rugby clubs and after schools clubs across the Sheffield and North
Derbyshire area. It has also established franchise operations in Leicester, based at
Oval Park, home of the Leicester Tigers Academy.
The Opportunity
Coaching over 500 children per week, RuggerEds are now seeking to strengthen their
Coaching team, by recruiting a number of talented and exceptional Assistant Coaches,
to be based in and around the Dronfield & North East Derbyshire area
The Person
You will have a genuine interest in Youth Sports and previous Coaching experience
within sport, preferably rugby would be advantageous.
Because of the nature and delivery to multiple sites with equipment, it is essential that
you hold a driving licence and access to transport on a regular basis.
