Meet the Teacher
Katie Boggess
Grew up in Cobb County
East Side Elementary, Dickerson Middle and
Walton High
Early Childhood Ed. Degree from Georgia
Southern University
Student Taught in 2nd Grade-My favorite
grade level!
Taught Pre-K for 2 years in Vinings
Worked at Shallowford Falls last year as a
RTI paraprofessional

2nd Grade are required to
read SIX books or chapters
per week as part of their
homework . 2nd Grade
students are required to read
200 books at home for the
entire year. If a child is
reading a chapter book, each
chapter may be counted as
Accelerated Reader
Set own goal, but minimum of 5
points each 9 weeks
20 points total for the year
Only tests with an 80% or higher
are accepted
Below 80% will not count
towards goal
AR tests during morning work,
snack time, literacy centers or
while in media center
Transportation
Transportation changes MUST be
made by 1:00 PM through the front
office or must be received in
writing in the morning.
PLEASE DO NOT EMAIL
TRANSPORTATION CHANGES!!!
Several changes for one child &
last minute changes are the main
cause for transportation mistakes
in the afternoon.
