Former world champion Carl Frampton and a number of
other high-profile fighters have hit out at the decision to
allow professionals to box at the Olympics.
International boxing federations voted in the rule change just
weeks before the Rio Games start on 05/08 August.
Northern Irishman Frampton says
amateur and pro boxing are "two different sports", claiming:
"It's like a badminton player playing tennis."

• Dethroned British middleweight champion Nick Blackwell in an
induced coma with bleed to his brain following fight. He was defeated
in 10th round by Chris Eubank Jr on Saturday, but collapsed afterwards
and was taken to hospital.
• Boxing authorities have backed the referee of the fight and insisted the
injured fighter 'knew the risks’.
• British Boxing Board of Control general secretary said: 'Blackwell
wanted to be a boxer, we all know the risks’.
• Friend and fellow boxer says his father has told him he is recovering
well and 'will be back to us in no time’. The boxer's family have
thanked fans for their support and say they will release a statement in
due course
