First Minister Mentoring Opportunity – Promotional Pack Scotland’s First Minister is looking to mentor a young woman (or a young person who identifies as female) to encourage all of Scotland to use mentoring to make Scotland a more equal country. There are thousands of young people out there who could benefit from this experience. You could be the one to help us find a mentee for the First Minister and change their life in the process. To help you promote the opportunity, we’ve created a variety of useful documents, copy and social media posts. You are free to use this content in any way you like. Young Scot is committed to ensuring the applicants come from diverse backgrounds, ages, and geographies, and that we receive applications from young people with additional support needs. If you are young woman or you identify yourself as a young woman, aged between 18 -23, and are bold, brilliant and courageous about the future Young Scot want to hear from you. 1 During the mentoring programme, you will have at least four private meetings with the First Minister. There may be additional opportunities depending on your interests, and the opportunity to work with the media. The mentoring experience will take place between June 2017 and March 2018. The First Minister said: “If we’re serious about reducing gender inequality and creating the next generation of women leaders, it’s up to us as women to ensure this happens. Mentoring a young woman is a highly effective way to enhance her career chances – giving her the confidence and knowledge to strive for her ambitions. To apply visit Young.scot/FirstMentor.
