MCAF’s 2014-‘15 Programs & Activities - Highlights - Resettlement Assistance Program (84 GARs from 7 source countries) - Welcome Reception House provides refugees with a warm welcoming first home in Canada. - Coordinated Fredericton Community Response to the Resettlement of Syrian Refugees. - Settlement Services (968 newcomers from 30 countries). - English as an Additional Language Training (552 newcomers) WWW.MCAF.NB.CA Multicultural Association of Fredericton Inc. MCAF’s 2014–‘15 Programs & Activities-Highlights - The Francophone Liaison Program. 213 newcomers from 13 countries received settlement and francisation services to settle in Fredericton’s francophone community. - Employment services worked with newcomers to find 90 jobs and to start 9 businesses. - On-site Job Fair linked 196 newcomers with 29 employers and training institutions. - Computer Lab Income Tax clinics assisted 448 newcomers to file their income tax. MCAF’s 2014-‘15 Programs & Activities - Highlights - Children and Youth programs (316 newcomer children and youth, from 44 countries) homework clubs, after school program, sports, music, art, photo voice & dance enhancing their self-esteem, leadership skills, sense of belonging and opportunities to share their cultures. - Rainbow of Cultures Summer Day Camp for children aged 6-12 years. (55 children from 14 countries) - Newcomer Scholarship Fund, awarded three scholarships of $1,000 each to three newcomer youth bringing the total scholarships awarded to 7. MCAF’s 2014-‘15 Programs & Activities- Highlights - Diversity and Inclusion in Schools partnered with local schools, delivering activities for 7,479 participants, enhancing cross-cultural education and facilitating a welcoming inclusive environment in schools and in the broader community. - Coordination of the 7th annual Cultural Expressions Festival Namaste from the Top of the World, featuring Bhutanese-Nepali cultures attended by over 4,430 people.
