Who is After School Counts?
After School Counts hosts the annual Off to a Great Start conference and is a program of the Educational Service Center of Central
Ohio serving all Franklin County Ohio public school districts and beyond.
What is the overall objective of the conference?
The annual Off to A Great Start (OTAGS) conference provides a forum for developing a peer professional network, reinforcing
professionalism after school field, sharing best practices, strengthening professional knowledge and providing skills for increasing
the quality of after school programs. Most importantly, we want after school professionals to know that their work is important and
makes a difference in the lives of children and their families.
What is the theme of the 2017 OTAGS Conference?
The 15th Annual Off to a Great Start conference will explore the opportunity OST professionals have in
cultivating children’s growth. Guided by the question, "did you hear about the rose that grew from concrete"
the two-day conference will center on inclusivity and meaningful engagement as attendees receive tools,
tangible ideas and resources to better understand and respond to children’s needs. Together, from
neighborhood to neighborhood, community to community, we will explore our common
purpose and present diverse perspectives toward our collective goal to nurture student success!
