Superintendent’s Reading Club
All of our students are working toward becoming a member of the Superintendent’s Reading Club. At the end of
each quarter the students who have met the requirements will eat breakfast with the superintendent. Our first breakfast
will take place on October 16th.
PTO Meeting (Pack the Library)
The first PTO meeting of the year will take place on Monday, October 13th at 6:30 p.m. Please make an effort to
attend.
Nurse’s Notes
Reminder cover when you cough. When we cough we spread germs to those around us and can even spread
germs as far as 5 feet. Coughing into the bend of your elbow is a good way to prevent those germs from spreading.

Chloe Peery – Chloe is a Pre-K student at Jefferson. She likes to eat at Burger King and her favorite food is barbeque
meatballs. Chloe likes to play the board game Trouble. Her favorite book is any Nancy Clancy book. When Chloe
watches TV her favorite show is Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Her favorite color is purple. Chloe’s favorite drink is
Strawberry Sprite.
Lucas Terry – Lucas is a 3rd grader at Jefferson. His favorite place to go is Peru, Australia. Lucas says his favorite
subjects in school are Math, Reading and Science. Lucas likes to play soccer and baseball. His favorite foods are pizza
and chicken. Lucas’s favorite movie is The Lego Movie. HIs favorite colors are green and blue. Lucas identifies lions
and platypuses as his favorite animals.

Charley Burch – Mr. Burch is the new high school principal here at Jefferson. Mr. Burch had been here three years
teaching high school Social Studies. Mr. Burch has two sisters and has two sons. His favorite book is Bleachers. His
favorite movie is Hoosiers. Mr. Burch like to eat at Carson’s and his favorite food is Chicken Fried Steak. Mr. Burch
served in the Army National Guard and was stationed in Germany for a year and a half. Mr. Burch likes to watch the
Royals, Chiefs and the Missouri Tigers when he gets time. Mr. Burch’s favorite quote, “I can accept failure, everyone
fails at something. But I can’t accept not trying”.-Michael Jordan

Halloween Fun
WHO:
Parents and children (prenatal through 5 years old not in kindergarten) within the
Jefferson C-123 School District
WHAT: PAT & EC Halloween Fun Night
WHEN: Monday, October 13, 2014 from 5:30 pm – 6:30 pm
WHERE: Jefferson C-123 Kindergarten Room for story time and then the multi-purpose room
for activities.
WHY:
Parents and their children can enjoy story time and Halloween activities together!
Please stay for the PTO meeting following the Early Childhood meeting at 6:30.
The Early Childhood (EC) Program is for children ages 3 to 5 years old not enrolled in
kindergarten. Please call Wendy Riley or Stacy Mason at 944-2316.
The Parents as Teachers (PAT) is for parents and their children prenatal to kindergarten. For
