AIR HANDLING UNITS WITH ELECTRIC HEATER The EMC Directive 2014/30/EU The Low Voltage directive 2014/35/EU A Guide to adjusting Electric Heater Output Installation Guide Figure 1. A typical element arrangement and rearrangement is: Isolate the unit from electrical supply before removing any panels Each unit is supplied with the maximum heater KW configuration i.e. 18KW 24KW 27KW 36KW 54KW (and above) The heater element outputs can be reduced to: 12KW and 6KW 18KW, 12KW and 6KW 18KW and 9KW 27KW, 18KW and 9KW 36KW, 27KW, 18KW and 9KW phase supply strap Method This work should only be undertaken by a suitably qualified person. Release the four bolts retaining the heater section side cover and remove the side completely to expose the control and heater element terminals. Determine the number of heater elements required. Elements can be either 2Kw or 3Kw depending on unit purchased and can be identified by use of the table above and simple calculation and viewing the unit. Further advice on your units element rating can be obtained from Nuaire technical support. n n n n phase supply strap cut to suit the reduction required Remove the phase supply strap of each phase and cut (or remove) according to the reduction required Ensure that phase balance is maintained by removing an equal number of elements from each phase Ensure that phase line wires are re-connected to the correct terminals Reinstate in reverse order After Sales Enquiries For technical assistance or further product information, including spare parts and replacement components, please contact the After Sales Department. phase supply strap cut to suit the reduction required Telephone 02920 858 400 Nuaire: A Trading Division of Polypipe Limited Western Industrial Estate Caerphilly United Kingdom CF83 1NA T: 029 2088 5911 F: 029 2088 7033 E: [email protected] W: www.nuaire.co.uk 1 10. 05. 17.
