• There is a difference between Catia and 3Dvia
in terms of transparency representation.
• Something that is 100% transparent (0%
opacity) in Catia is still visible, while after
conversion into 3DVia it becomes invisible.
• So, if you want to be able to see your object in
3DVia, don't set its opacity to 0% in Catia.

Printing on OCE plotters

• This bug is reproducible, and can lead to the loss of data.
• The scenario is:
When Catia is using more than 1.5 Gb of RAM (CNEXT process
in the task manager), if you want to print a drawing through
the print panel (ctrl + P) and select an OCE plotter, when you
click on properties button, Catia freezes and the only thing
which can be done is to restart it.
• All the modifications in the session are lost.
• This bug is under investigation with the OCE company, in
the meantime please be vigilant.

Printing on OCE plotters

• A possible workaround if what you
want to print is Checked-Out or New
is to print from the CARTWeb
application. You don't ever need to
login, the Preview button appears on
the login window. Then you can print
from the HPGL viewer.
• If what you want to print is CheckedIn, use the viewer embedded in
SmarTeam.
Ex : ST0451728_02 a.01
• The best way is to print from CDD !!!

CARTWeb

• CARTWeb forces the "Designation" fields to uppercase
– While SmarTeam is case sensitive,
– CARTWeb forces the "Designation" fields to uppercase if the Edit menu
is used…
– The workaround in this case is to run CARTWeb a second time and
answering YES to the first dialog box.
• CARTWeb's first dialog box freezes
– Fly the mouse over the dialog box before clicking,
– Or switch to SmarTeam then come back to CARTWeb.
• Do not resize or minimize the CARTWeb window
– Or else, the buttons disappear.
– The only way to exit is to close the window. All the info is lost.

– More than 100 different users already started it
– 10 users already used it more than 50 times
– 1 user launched it more than 400 times!!!
– Total number of uses since the deployment: 2500 times.

SmT CDD traceability

There is NO automatic trace between CDD and SmarTeam
Drawings!
– Don't forget to make drawings Preliminary before asking for signatures.
– For some Equipment codes, CDD Control 1 requires that the Drawing is already
Preliminary.
You can ask for this behavior for your equipment codes!

Time consuming Update

For some 3D models or Drawings, the update takes a lot of time.
Several factors can lead to the issue:
• For the 3D models
– Sections set to automatic update,
– Usage of Mass/Inertia computation in the Application nodes (top
Product and lower levels),
– Some other applicative data that have to be re-calculated after every 3D
modification.
• For the drawings
– The actions above have a real impact,
– To decrease the update time, run "local update" instead of "general
update",
– Use Approximate or CGR views when it's possible. See this FAQ.
