Steel Blue Successful 10-year Partnership with Breast Cancer Care

Steel Blue Successful 10-year Partnership with Breast Cancer Care WA
Overview
Breast Cancer Care WA has been providing personalised emotional, practical
and financial support and care to people affected by breast cancer since
2000. The support is extended to their families and carers whose lives are
also affected by this experience.
Receiving no government funding, Breast Cancer Care WA relies on the
generosity of the community in order to provide its range of services at no
charge. Breast Cancer Care WA also place a strong emphasis on educating
the community to increase awareness and early detection of breast cancer.
With 1 in 8 women being diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetime,
educating and supporting the community is paramount.
In 2007, Breast Cancer Care WA joined forces with Steel Blue, Australian
manufacturer of premium safety boots. The 10-year partnership has seen,
to date, a generous $1,083,275 being donated to Breast Cancer Care WA
from sales of around 70,000 pairs of Steel Blue purple and pink ladies boots.
Background
It started with a casual conversation between Breast Cancer Care WA and
Steel Blue. The idea of developing a range of purple boots to raise
awareness of the breast cancer care cause came about and, Steel Blue was
devoted to donating a portion of the sales of these boots to support Breast
Cancer Care WA programs and initiatives.
Designed just for ladies, these stylish boots feature a higher arch, shorter
ankle-length and smaller in-step. Following the success of the first purple
boots range launched in 2007, Steel Blue has launched another range of
purple and pink ladies boots in 2015. Steel Blue has now 3 boots supporting
the breast cancer care cause (Argyle purple and Southern Cross pink and
purple boots).
So, the promise is simple: For every pair of Steel Blue purple and pink boots
sold $10 is donated to Breast Cancer Care WA to support people affected
by breast cancer!
