PAS support:
Methodological technical assistance through international and
local technical experts in the respective statistical domain(s):
• Support to methodological work of the SHaSA working groups ->
methodological frameworks (guidelines, manuals, questionnaires…) and
integration indicators
• Technical assistance missions (e.g. for tools, frameworks; knowledge
transfer)
• Training (of trainers), workshops and seminars
• Provide ASS and its methodological/technical networks with ad-hoc
consultancy
• Assist AUSTAT in the overall methodological coordination of programme
activities and the dissemination of results
• Assist AUSTAT in setting-up the AU Statistical Institute

• Assistance to AUSTAT in
a) a) Preparing the infrastructure
 setting up the data centre
 creating/enhancing AU website
 Establishing effective communication channels and
networks
b) b) Providing consultancy in areas such as institutional,
legal, financial, governance, and HR management, as well
as other aspects related to the future role of the institute
c) c) preparing (annual) work programmes and evidence
based strategy/policy papers for reporting and advocacy
purposes
