School Boy’s Basketball Showcase and authorize the directors
to act for me according to their best judgments in any
emergency requiring medical attention for which I shall pay.
In addition, I release from liability and hold PHSC harmless
from any and all claims from loss of property, personal injury
or death sustained by my child arising out of any activities
conducted by PHSC.

Micheal Jones is in his fourth year
as head basketball coach at PHSC
after previously serving as assistant
coach under Bobby Bowman (201011) and James Johnson (2011-12).
In the 2015-2016 Season, Jones led
the Conquistadors to the Regional X
Tournament where they finished in
the top 8.
Prior to his coaching positions at
PHSC, Jones played two seasons
(1999-2001) under the leadership of Bobby Bowman. He
helped lead the Conquistadors to the Suncoast Conference
championship (2000) and was named All-Conference (200001 season). Jones appeared in the FCCAA State Tournament
(2000-01) and represented PHSC in the 2000 state All-Star
game. In 2003, at Florida State University, Jones competed as
a shot putter in men’s track and field.
Jones began his athletic career at Challenger K8 in Spring
Hill, Fla., where he coached middle school basketball for
four years (2005-07) before accepting a position as assistant
junior varsity high school basketball coach for Florida State
University School in Tallahassee, Fla. (2007-09). Jones then
returned to coaching at the middle school level at West
Hernando Middle School in Brooksville, Fla. where he was
basketball coach and head football coach (2010-12). He
wrapped up his middle school coaching career as the athletic
director at Fox Chapel Middle School (2012-13) in Spring Hill,
Fla., earning the the Fred E. Rozelle Sportsmanship Award for
the athletic program’s display of exemplary sportsmanship.
In addition to his coaching position, Jones works in the
community with student athletes to help give back, teach
sports fundamentals and offer positive life choices to at-risk
youth. He has been working in the Brooksville community
with Horace “Hi-C” Copland (former NFL Wide Receiver
Tampa Bay Bucs) to help teach student athletes what life and
athletics are all about.
