2016 Intramural Ultimate Frisbee Amendments
1. POC’s / coaches are required to submit any roster changes to the Sports coordinator prior to the first game on
game day.
a. NOTE – rosters can be checked at any point if I, an official or other coach asks. IF someone is not on your
roster (the latest/most current one in my possession) and is playing, you will forfeit your game.
b. Teams can dress up to 10 (ten) players.
2. Tournament will follow USA Ultimate rules with minor exceptions. Please see list below for exceptions and
clarifications:
a. TIME OUTS – teams will be allowed one (1) two (2) minute time outs per game
i. ONLY the player in possession of the disc may call a time out for their team
b. CHECK – The disc must be ‘checked’ by the opponent before putting disc into play. This is done by the
defender touching the disc.
c. OUT OF BOUNDS & MOMENTUM –
i. A player may pivot in and out of bounds so long as their pivot foot is within the playing area
ii. IF momentum carries a player out of bounds after completing a catch, the player must return to
the spot where he/she crossed the line and put the disc in play
iii. To be considered in bounds after gaining possession, the first point of contact with the ground
must be completely in bounds
iv. A player CANNOT score by running into the endzone. Should the players momentum carry them
into the endzone, the receiver must carry the disc back to the spot of the first contact and put it
into play from there.
d. DEFENSE – is played 1 on 1.
i. A defensive player within 3 meters of the pivot foot may begin a count from one (1) to ten (10)
and initiate a ‘stall’ count. They must call out ‘stalling’ or ‘counting’. In the event that the
defensive player reaches the count of (10) without the disc being progressed, a change of
possession will occur.
ii. If the defensive player catches the disc at the same time as the offensive player, possession
stays with the offense.
e. OTHER –
i. If a player takes more than three (3) steps before coming to a stop, the player has ‘traveled.
Possession will change.
ii. No defensive player may touch the disc while in possession of the thrower or receiver – NO
STRIPPING.
iii. Players call their own fouls. There are no officials to contest.
3. Uniforms will be provided for each team. They will be handed out at the beginning of each game and need to be
returned directly following a team’s elimination from the tournament.
a. NO METAL CLEATS ALLOWED
4. Location: Softball Field
5. Game time: Games will be run on a 45 minute rotation.
