DIRECTIONS FROM FUGITIVES’ DRIFT
TO PHINDA PRIVATE GAME RESERVE
From Fugitives’ Drift proceed towards Rorke’s Drift, turning right at the
T-Junction. Pass Rorke’s Drift on your right. Turn right onto the D30 towards
Isandlwana. After 9km, turn right again for Isandlwana.
Go past Isandlwana battlefield, and proceed straight for about 7km to the tar
road (R68).At the tar road (the R68), turn right towards Babanago and
Melmoth, please beware of the potholes. At Melmoth T-juntion turn right
onto the R66 towards Eshowe.
At Nkwalini (25km after Melmoth), turn left onto the R34 for Empangeni.
At Empangeni head north on the N2. Pass through the town of Hluhluwe and
at the 4th roundabout turn left toward Sodwana Bay on the R22. Continue for
approximately 1 km and turn right on the R22 toward Sodwana Bay. Cross
over the railway line and travel for a further 28 km crossing over the Sibhicayi
River.
After the Phinda signboard, turn left at the intersection after the first set of
rumble strips. Take the D675 for approximately 4 km until you reach a Tjunction and fence line. At this T-junction take the D488 to the right and
continue for a further 4 km with the fence line on your left-hand side. You
will arrive at the entrance to the Mun-ya-wana Game Reserve.
