The Corporate Sector Research and Advance Engineering is in charge of designing, testing and exploring systems, components and technologies. Our
innovations consistently aim to achieve an improvement in the quality of life. Renningen, near Stuttgart, is the new hub of the Bosch Group’s global
research and advance engineering activities. Here around 1,600 employees from the center for research and advance engineering will develop new
materials, methods, and technologies, along with new systems, components, and production processes.

Be part of the Bosch Center for Artifical Intelligence. Your tasks will be:
Development and implementation of novel Reinforcement
Learning (RL) algorithms with focus on industrial
application domains; in particular RL for controlling
systems, safe exploration (Active Learning, AL) or
model-building of ML-based plant/dynamics model
Evaluation and comparison of RL/AL algorithms for specific
applications and related tasks, in particular with regard
to performance, training, and suitability for real-world
applications
Technical discussions and creation of new ideas &
applications within the existing machine learning research
team
Close contact to the scientific community in RL, scouting
and assessment of new approaches, publications on top
conferences and journals
PhD in Machine Learning (preferably Reinforcement Learning)
with excellent publication record
Proven programming skills, in particular Matlab or Python
Experience in development and implementation of
state-of-the-art RL technologies
Preferably background in model-based RL
Experience with exploration of systems is a plus
Preferably experience with real-world RL applications
Broad knowledge of machine learning algorithms and
principles
Strong teamplayer, motivation and ability to define
personal research roadmap
Strong English skills, motivation to work in an
interdisciplinary and international team
