will be registered with Dr Martin.
From 1st April Dr Jones will be reducing his sessions from 9 to 6 per week and will be
available on Mondays (all day), Wednesday mornings, Thursday (all day) and Friday mornings.
He will remain Senior Partner at the practice, but will not be taking on any new patients.
Hartley Corner remains committed to providing all our 11,600 patients with an excellent service and these
changes are structured to help us maintain a strong and friendly practice team for the future.
PATIENT PARTICIPATION
As many of you already know, Hartley Corner Surgery is participating in a countrywide scheme to improve
feedback and communication with patients and help improve/develop services where possible. Unlike some
other surgeries, we already had a Patient Participation Group (PPG), but we have now also set up a Patient
Reference Group (PRG) to complement this. The structure of these groups is as follows:The PPG (Patient Participation Group) was formed in autumn 2010 and is a committee of patients who
meet at the practice regularly to support us with two-way communication and in developing or improving
services. They produce their own regular Newsletter which is very informative and popular and assist with
the Patient Fund. They help interpret patient feedback and play an active role with survey design, results and
possible actions.
The PRG (Patient Reference Group) – is a “virtual” group – of a much larger, continually growing number
of patients. The PRG responds to practice surveys and helps us understand patient priorities and issues and
improve services.
Thank you to those of you who have signed up so far to be part of our PRG (Patient Reference Group) and
who completed a practice survey in October/November. The results of this survey have now been collated
and discussed with PPG/PRG members and members of the Practice Team. Actions to help improve services
for patients have been suggested and costs/plans are being investigated. A full report regarding the Patient
Participation Scheme, Survey & Results will be available in March on our website, in the Waiting Room and
on the NHS Choices website. If you wish to join the PRG - sign up forms are available in our waiting room
and online. Everyone is welcome to join, but we do need more men to apply and people in the younger age
groups 16+.
