THINGS TO KNOW:
• The FIRST program appropriate for your team
members’ ages (FIRST LEGO League Junior K-4, FIRST
LEGO League 4-8, FIRST Tech Challenge 7-12, FIRST Robotics
Competition 9-12)
Prep
• Before you can pay the registration fee, you will
need TWO coaches registered in the system with
cleared background checks
• You can choose a Team Admin role or a
Coach/Mentor role (Coach 1 or Coach 2). Only the
two coaches are required to be filled before you
can pay the team registration fee.

Once you have 1) created a profile and/or 2)
logged in, you should see your Dashboard.

If you see the “Consent & Release Form”
button, click it to finish signing the form.

All coaches must sign the Consent & Release Form to finalize their
registration. This button may appear at a later step in the process.

To create a new team, click “I want to…+”

On the menu that appears,
choose “Create a Team”

Choose which role you would like to assume for the team.
For this walkthrough, Lead Coach/Mentor 1 has been selected. Team
Admin view may differ slightly although the process is the same.

Select the program of your choice, then complete the form below.
Note: Team Name can be changed in the future.

Choose the organization type that best applies to your team.
If you have multiple associations, you can add another school or
organization. Additional form fields will appear depending on your
selection.

Enter the contact information for the Coach/Mentor 2 role, or
choose to do so at a later time.
Additionally, you can add a Team Admin contact.

1. Ensure Coach 1 & 2 have both created a profile and
completed the Youth Protection Program (YPP)
background screening process, and signed the Consent
& Release Form.
Next Steps
2. Pay your team registration fee and purchase your
Challenge Kit, as well as any desired robot kits.
3. Send instructions on registering team members to your
team member parents.
