Best Foot Forward with Patrick Andrews
Do you lack confidence in your abilities? Unsure of yourself when dealing with bosses?
Need some help to survive in the job market? Learn about how to make a really good first
impression and land that place at college or the job you actually want. Local businessman
and inventor Patrick Andrews will give you some easy take-away messages about what
mistakes to avoid and how to upgrade your performance when meeting senior people.
Pallet Projects with Callum MacDougall
Repurpose pallets into funky new projects and make use of throw away materials in this
fun DIY session. Pallets can be used to make everything from coffee tables to picture
frames on a minimal budget. Learn good practical skills and a methodical approach from
Callum, a qualified joiner with extensive experience in the construction industry.
First Aid with Live Active Leisure
A simple, fun and interactive first aid class covering treatment for cardiac arrest, heart
attack, stroke, CPR, use of a defibrillator & bandaging for fractures & bleeds with a
trained assessor. A short course first aid certificate will be included.
Survival Skills with Ian MacFarlane
Fancy being the next Bear Grylls or Ray Mears? Could you survive the woods? Here’s your
chance, build a shelter, light your own fire (using a fire steel), boil your water for a cup of
tea, bake your own bread. Under expert guidance from a professional survival expert
from Do It Outdoors you will learn a host of new skills. Dress for the outdoors!
Festival Heads Up with June McEwen
Heading to T in the Park, Belladrum or Loopallu this summer? Join local artist June
McEwen making wearable headgear such as hats, caps, bandanas, headbands and
hairbands to wear and sell! Learn great fabric techniques to make you stand out from the
crowd. Choose from tie dyeing, bleach effects, fabric painting and customising for the
ultimate festival look.
Outdoor Mural with Jessie Carr
Learn techniques for large scale painting on metal in our outdoor mural project. This is a
unique opportunity to work with professional artist Jessie who has over 20 years in the
decorative arts and started out painting canvas backdrops to the photography, film, TV
and event industries. Learn how to scale up a design, mix and choose colours, paint
using decorators brushes and work to a timescale. This is an outdoor project so please
dress appropriately.
Sewing Bee with Barbara MacDonald
Join the queen of the sewing machine and learn how to revamp and repurpose scrap
fabric into something new and funky. A basic sewing class making phone covers, bags
and more. Barbara has crafted from an early age and is passionate about creating new
objects from pre-loved stuff. She is the owner of McMac Vintage, creating and marketing
beautiful items from vintage materials.
