About IFB
International Festival for Business (“IFB”) exists to promote the UK as the world's
most enterprising, innovative and welcoming place for business and
entrepreneurship, the bi-annual Festival has taken place in 2014 and 2016.
Our aim is to make IFB a globally renowned festival with a distinctive personality that
is considered an essential element of the International Business calendar and which
provides delegates with the tools to explore new thinking, new business networks,
opportunities, partnerships and deals.
The purpose of the International Festival for Business is to enable all attending
delegates to secure tangible business benefit & value, whilst inspiring, influencing &
stimulating new business ideas & understanding, thereby strengthening the UK’s
position as a global leader in free trade & investment.
Our vision is to create a world class festival in the UK that celebrates the energy,
variety and value of global business. (A ‘Glastonbury’ for business ideas and
connections.) The next Festival IFB2018 should be seen as an exemplar for
supporting next generation young talent with an innovative youth engagement
programme. By inspiring and educating young people to become interested and
confident in business practice it will help produce the entrepreneurs of tomorrow.
Objectives
To contribute to the creative direction, purpose, vision, look and feel of the
programme of activity for IFB2018 ensuring a truly engaging and inclusive
International Business Festival. Ensuring that IFB2018 really is a Festival for
business.
To contribute to the creation of a brand for IFB2018 that drives anticipation and
excitement for the event among Regional, National and International delegates,
exhibitors, local businesses and other participants to IFB2018.
Help establish and maintain a consistent and coherent brand through the marketing,
events, services build and operation of the Festival.
Main Responsibilities:
Working under the Festival Creative Director and in partnership with relevant
partners and the senior IFB2108 team the Festival Programmer will be expected to:

Lead on and deliver a festival programme of engaging, attractive, inclusive
and contemporary events within scheduling, operational and budgetary
constraints.
Create innovative content ensuring that the content has an identity that is
attractive to Local, National and International businesses from all sectors and
business sizes;
Working with the Marketing team, develop a compelling brand proposition and
contribute to the design and implementation of a comprehensive marketing
strategy for the event ensuring campaigns support the IFB2018 brand;
Outline a plan of inspiring events for the Festival to support the agreed culture
and brand ensuring the sessions appeal to the target audience. Contribute to
the execution of all brand events and launches;
Develop and maintain excellent relationships with key influencers and
stakeholders (including local and national businesses, and public and private
sector organisations) both in the UK and internationally and research and
incorporate their views into the content design;
Provide strong leadership and strategic and creative direction to the
promotion of the IFB2018;
Identify and, in conjunction with the senior members of the IFB2018 team,
secure revenue generation opportunities and research relevant, monitoring
trends, identifying potential areas where the IFB2018 could attract new
sponsors, delegates and events;
Monitor and evaluate the success of the IFB2018 content plan in achieving
business objectives;
Maximise the attributes of the Festival Host City, as part of the festival offer
and delegate experience;
Be flexible and pragmatic and deliver solutions in the best overall interests of
the Festival, recognising in an event of this scale and complexity there are
competing objectives and shared / compromise solutions will need to be
found;
Integrate the dedicated cultural programme for the programme along with
other Host City activity with the core IFB2018 programme.

Demonstrable experience in a relevant festival programming and delivery
management role.
Excellent organisational, managerial and communications skills;
Be a good team player;
Have strong creative flair and be able to see an idea from conception through
to delivery;
Demonstrable brand proposition and implementation experience at a senior
level in an organisation;
Have an innovative and entrepreneurial approach;

whilst upholding and promoting the vision, values and ambitions of the IFB
2018 brand;
Proven negotiating and influencing skills.
