SunSmart is keen to use board games to educate primary students about the
importance of the Slip! Slop! Slap! Seek! and Slide! sun protection message.
In small groups, design a board game which educates children about the importance of
sun protection and the various ways to protect their skin from skin cancer.
Keep in mind that your game must include the following:
a)Education about each of the
Slip! Slop! Slap! Seek! and Slide!
messages
b)Information about both skin
cancer and vitamin D
c) Your own SunSmart mascot
which would appeal to young
children.

Extend yourself
Once the class has finished, swap games between the groups and write a review
of the other group’s board game, including how effective you feel the game is at
educating children about sun protection.
At the conclusion of the project, students may wish to laminate their game and
donate it to the local primary school.
