Aspects of Gaming Minecraft By: Michael Belisle Joshua Pierce Devon Dias Game play • Genre: Minecraft is a sandbox survival game • Control Style: Minecraft started out as a pc game but later transferred to the xbox360 and playstation 3 console • Perspective: Minecraft is a first person game however it gives you the option to switch to third person Story • Minecraft’s storyline is to survive and search the world for the End portal. Once through the End portal you encounter the Ender dragon which in order to beat the game you need to kill it Characters • There is only one character in minecraft is Steve. However if you want to you can change the skin by downloading or creating one. This feature is not available on console, instead you need to buy skin packs. • The NPC’s of minecraft are: the villagers, zombies, creepers, spiders, skeletons, etc… Environment • Minecraft features a variety of environments. These environments are jungle, desert etc… • However, you can change the environment in any way possible all depending on the players’ imagination! Audio • Minecraft has both regular and music both can be turned off in the pause menu. As you progress through the many environments of Minecraft the audio changes. The music also changes depending on what time of day it is. Interface • Minecraft’s interface features a health bar, hunger meter, experience bar, quick select bar, and a cursor in the center of the screen. Minecrafts inventory interface is opened with the esc key or the start button. The inventory interface includes a 2X2 crafting area. Along with a armor slots for your helmet, chest piece, leggings and boots. This is also accompanied by 27 slots for your items that you can’t fit in your quick select bar. The quick select bar is also accessed in the inventory screen.
