IMPORTANT INFORMATION
CONFIRM YOUR ENROLLMENT.
For first-year students
Deadline to confirm: December 16, 2016
How do I select a meal plan?
After Miami University receives your confirmation deposit, you’ll be given access to the online Residence Hall and Meal Plan contract. We
encourage you to complete and submit this contract by December 16, 2016. Students who don’t submit the contract by the deadline will be
assigned a meal plan. You can find information about meal plans at MiamiOH.edu/mealplans.
Please note that the ACE Program fills quickly and may close before December 16. ACE students are encouraged to confirm as soon as possible to
reserve their place in the program.
Do I need to send Miami University my final grades and proof of graduation?
If you have not yet graduated from high school/secondary school, your acceptance to Miami University is conditioned upon your graduation and
the submission of your final high school/secondary school transcript. It is understood that you must maintain a high level of academic
achievement and personal conduct during your last year. If your final transcript shows that you did not perform to a high academic level, if you are
suspended, dismissed, or placed on probation by your school, or if you are convicted of a criminal offense other than a minor traffic incident or
such charges are pending against you prior to your attendance, Miami University reserves the right to withdraw the offer of admission.
If you would like to confirm your enrollment via postal mail, please complete the form below and mail it and a check (USD $425 if you’re living in
university housing; USD $95 if you’re living in non-university housing) made payable to Miami University to: Office of Admission, Miami University,
301 S. Campus Avenue, Oxford, OH 45056-3434, USA.
We are excited about your decision to attend Miami University! Please note you can also confirm your enrollment online at MiamiOH.edu/accepted.

First-year students
Why is a final transcript required if I’ve already been accepted?
It is required because our offer of acceptance is based upon review of all prior university coursework and your high school/secondary school
transcript, including grades from current completed coursework in which you may be enrolled. Also, your final transcript should demonstrate your
consistent effort in maintaining your grade point average (GPA). It is understood that you must maintain a cumulative GPA of 2.00 in all college
coursework. If your final transcript shows that you did not meet this expectation, if you are suspended, dismissed, or placed on probation by your
school, or if you are convicted of a criminal offense other than a minor traffic incident or such charges are pending against you prior to your
attendance, Miami University reserves the right to withdraw the offer of admission. Your transcript must be received before the start of classes. To
get an idea of how your credits will transfer, please refer to the International Transfer Student Supplement included in your acceptance packet.
Steps are outlined on how to use transferology.com or request a transfer credit evaluation.
For first-year and transfer students
How do I change my major?
If you are now prepared to choose a major or if you wish to change your major in the College of Arts and Science; the College of Creative Arts (Art
and Architecture History or Interactive Media Studies); the College of Education, Health and Society; or the College of Engineering and
Computing, you may make that change during orientation. However, you must complete and meet other admission requirements if you want to
change your major to the Farmer School of Business (for Accountancy, Analytics, Business Economics, Finance, Interdisciplinary Business
Management, Information Systems, Management and Leadership, Marketing, or Supply Chain and Operations Management), or the College of
Creative Arts (for Architecture, Art, Art Education, Graphic Design, Interior Design, Music, Music Education, Music Performance, or Theatre). These
areas of study have special requirements for admission and students are admitted on a space-available basis.
When will I receive information about merit scholarships?
All admitted international students are automatically considered for merit-based awards during admission review. These scholarships are competitive,
and no additional application is necessary. If you have received a scholarship, the award is indicated on the I-20 document and in a separate
scholarship award letter included in this packet. Please note that Miami University does not offer need-based scholarships or financial aid to
international students, therefore, please budget your finances accordingly.
What do I need to do if I plan to go to another institution and decline the offer of admission from Miami University?
You may discard the I-20 document and notify the Office of Admission. Send an email with subject line “Decline Admission” to
[email protected].
All new students are required to submit a deposit (USD $425 if you’re living in university housing; USD $95 if you’re living in non-university
housing) which includes the $330 Residence Hall and Meal Plan Contract Deposit and $95 admission fee. The Office of Admission does not refund
any portion of the confirmation deposit to students who choose not to attend Miami University. For students living in university housing, the
Residence Hall and Meal Plan Contract Deposit of USD $330, less any unpaid charges, will be applied retroactively toward your final academic
term fees.
