School Value for this Half Term: Forgiveness
It’s coming to the end of my first term at
Maulden Lower. What a busy one it’s been!
I would like to thank staff, governors, parents
and pupils for supporting me during this time.
On Monday 3rd April at 10am we will
be holding our Easter Service. I
look forward to seeing many of you
there.
SATS Evening – Year 2 Parents
On Wednesday 19th April at 6pm you are
invited to a KS1 SATS meeting led by Mr
Cook. The KS1 SATS take place during the
summer term. The meeting will give you the
opportunity to address any concerns you may
have and also how you can support your
child at home.
The George Inn Maulden
As part of ‘Feet First’, Maulden Lower’s drive
to be healthy and physically active, Julian
Smith landlord of ‘The George Inn’ has said
he would like to support this initiative and
would be happy to let parents of Maulden
School use the car park during drop off and
pick up times. This will also ease congestion
down Church Road and reduce risks to
children’s safety.
Class/Group Photos
Just a reminder that on Thursday
20 April the photographer will be in school
taking class and group photos. It’s the first
week straight after our Easter break. Please
can the children come dressed smartly in
appropriate school uniform. If your child is a
member of the football or netball teams,
please remember to send them in with their
respective kits – football boots will not be
needed. Thank you.
th
Swimming Year 2
Please be advised that next term Yr2
swimming will be on Wednesdays,
commencing 19th April – our first day back.
Feet First
As we approach the Easter break, I am
pleased to share our accumulated totals for
our Feet First Initiative. This week sees
classes reach the following stages on our
totaliser :
Nursery
Fdn
Year 1
Year 2
Year 3
Year 4
- 163 Green Miles
- 355 (averaging 12.24 per child)
- 341 ( “
11.76)
- 247 ( “
8.82)
- 342 ( “
11.4)
- 379 ( “
11.84)
So congratulations to Foundation, who are
still completing the most Green Miles per
child, with Year 4s and then Year 1s close
behind. Remember that there will be a
special class treat for the overall winners at
the end of our initiative. A very big well done
to all of those children who have been
persuading their parent to scoot/bike or walk
to school with them from all around the
village.
We will be running our Feet First initiative
through to the end of April, so it’s a great
chance to make the most of the gradually
improving weather and combine a walk to
school with the opportunity to enjoy the signs
of spring around our lovely village.
Remember: even if you have to travel part
way by car, you could still leave just a few
minutes earlier and take advantage of The
George’s kind offer of parking facilities, then
earn yourself a Green Mile for deciding to
‘Park & Stride’.
Comic Relief
I’m pleased to say the school raised £145.50.
Thank you to all the children and staff who
dressed up and donated money.
Enjoy your weekend and have a wonderful
Easter holiday.
