Driving Directions
Val d’Isère is approximately 600 miles/10 hours from the channel ports and all but the last 50 miles
is dual carriageway. Departing from Calais, follow the signs to Reims, Troyes, Dijon, Lyon, Chambery,
Albertville, Moutiers, Bourg St. Maurice and Tignes/Val d’Isère. (Remember to be very careful on the
last section of the journey from Albertville into Moutiers, as the traffic police are there nearly every
weekend with on the spot speeding fines.)
Take care if using a Sat Nav when travelling to Val d’Isère from Geneva. Program the route via
Annecy and Albertville, otherwise the directions can you take through mountain passes that are only
open during the summer. After Bourg St. Maurice, be sure to branch right in the village of Séez.
Continue further up the mountain through the villages of St. Foye and la Tuille eventually coming to
a junction where the road forks again. Go straight on for Val d’Isère and not right for Tignes.
After several tunnels and a couple of miles go straight over the roundabout, travel 400 yards and
straight over the next roundabout. Continue for about a mile to the next roundabout and go straight
over. Continue up what is the main street in Val d’Isère and turn right at the next roundabout (the
Tourist Information building is on the left of this roundabout).
There is a road that heads into a tunnel, to the right of this there is a slipway, leading slightly up hill,
take this slip way. At the top of the slip way, going on the one-way system, take a right
here. Continue along this road for about 150 yards, Chalet Bonjour-Palmyre is located to the right
hand side of the hotel La Savoyarde.

Directions if catching the train
When you have arrived at Bourg Saint Maurice train station, walk along the platform, through the
main concourse exiting at the end into the Coach station. Coaches are timed to leave shortly after
the train arrives. There is always a queue for tickets, so try to be first off the train. Get off the bus at
the Tourist Information Centre, which is next to the roundabout at the far end of the centre of the
village.
Walk along the right hand road off this roundabout. There is a road that heads into a tunnel, to the
right of this there is a slipway, leading slightly up hill, take this slip way. At the top of the slip
way, going on the one way system, take a right here. Continue along this road for about 150 yards,
Chalet Bonjour-Palmyre is located to the right hand side of the hotel La Savoyarde.
Car Park
You can park outside the chalet only to unload (please be careful of traffic wardens). There are two
large, covered car parks;
P0 - Val d'Isère centre car park and
P1 - Face de Bellevarde car park, located in the centre of Val d'isere

These car parks are both less than five minutes’ walk away from the chalet. They have a weekly
charge and can be reserved in advance on the official Val d’isere website.
